July 11, 200322 yr Well here we go:1) Im back in the US, thank god2) My computer has been crashing hard (loss of OS) since May, most of the time just losing my OS but not any of my other data, well, the day i left to the UK the computer crashed even harder and all 3 of my non RAID HDD's were wiped completely. I lost HL (no more FA for a while, as i have since lost my HL CD), 20 gigs of pirated software (I guess I deserved it), and a lot of saved games. Im thinking the problem was based on a 40 gig HDD i had in use that had been abused pretty hard after a science project, but now that all drives have been affected (including a new 80 gig) I dunno. We will see how things go without the 40 gig3) got a new Gfx 5200 with 128 megs of RAM for 60 bucks, its the gfx equivalent of a gf4 mmx 440. It got a 90% from PC gamer (whose HW reviews I value more than their game reviews) and if its anything like my current 440 i should be very happy. The only problem is that it doesnt have a fan on it, but merely some cheap black sinks, so it looks like there will be minimal OCing :lol:4) Star Wars galaxies: its cool, but it lacks a lot of character in its execution, almost feels like it could be played completely with text and stats. At least the graphics are sweet though.
July 11, 200322 yr That is too bad Flak. You know who to call for Help    .As far as the 5200.It is a Direct x 9 version of the MX 440 if I am not mistaken. Which is a good thing. You can take your MX 440 heatsink and fan off and put it on your FX.Or just pinch the fins together and screw the fan into the stock heatsink.Remove the stock heatsink and lap/sand smooth the core then apply new heatsink compound on it.
July 12, 200322 yr Author lol, yeah... Im gonna give the system a few weeks, if it crashes after a couple than I will consult the Oracle at Reading
