July 15, 200619 yr Yesterday I decided to order charbroiled wings and pizza. Well, i'm eating my chicken wing, and heard an extra crunch in my mouth. Well, I broke my tooth off all the way to the gum. It is the tooth to the left of my front tooth. Anyways, this is my third strike with chicken wings and teeth. Both my front teeth are also fake cuz of chicken wings. Anyways, i had to call in sick from work today so i could get it fixed. I might just say screw it, pull all my top teeth out, and slap a set of dentures in. They quoted to cap my front teeth $3000. Figured dentures would be cheaper in the long run. Besides then i would definitely qualify for the old side in the old vs young challenge.. Oh, i have an appointment at 12:30 pm today. I might just pop in on ventrillo tonight to see how the match is going.

July 15, 200619 yr Don't feel bad, Both my parents have terrible teeth, so naturally mine suck too. (Not that I don't take care of them) You could say cavities run in the family. I have been considering the new implant style of dentures, they snap in. Good Luck!

July 15, 200619 yr wow that sucks, both of my front teeth are fake and it was about $3000. I lost them in an accident at work. Luckily though because WCB paid for everything as well as the time I took off from work. Well hope everything goes well for you wolfey.

Last year I was eating a bagette sandwich at school(a sandwich with a hard type of bread) and like you I heard that extra "crunch"...I went to the dentist that afternoon and he said the tooth was broke, right down to the gumline. So he yanked it out instead of trying to rebuild it. Then apparently the tooth next to that one was broke too, so THAT one was yanked as well! Oral surgeries are extremely costly...I'm in the process of getting my gums fixed up because I've had bad gingivitis for years...total cost of the procedure is like $5987 or something like that but we get a 20% discount(woo! ) so it's $5000. However, that doesn't count for the cost it's gonna be for all of my teeth I have to get capped! Best of luck with everything sister! (we should come up with a weird team name for ourselves or something! lol j/k)

July 15, 200619 yr Bad news eh. Sorry to hear about the misfortune. I haven't ever had a problem with my teeth. In fact not one cavity yet. Knock on wood.

July 16, 200619 yr Author Okay, i had them rebuild it. I got a little upset with him cuz he wasnt going to do it today. He came in and talked to me and then said go to the desk and she will give you an estimate. Then the girl goes have a nice day! I said wait a minute i need this tooth fixed. I said i'm a public servant and i cant talk to people with no front tooth. I said, if i had known you werent going to fix it i wouldnt have come. So i walk out to the front desk, and the girl tells the dentist what i said. He tells me to go back inside the room. I said to both of them i apologize if i was rude, but i cant talk to people looking like this. So, he says i understand. then he says open up and jabs me real hard with the needle. I guess i deserved it. Anyways i'm either gonna get a root canal and crown or just a bridge. But if i get a bridge he said i have to wait a week without a tooth. Fat chance on that!!!! Thanks for all the support !

Pizza was just sicilian. I didnt have any once i ate the wings and broke my tooth. Did i mention that i swallowed the tooth also.
July 16, 200619 yr seriously? that is scary stuff. root canals...*shudders* I have to get one of those done too. lol. I give ya a lot of credit for stickin up for yourself with getting the tooth fixed...I should've done the same thing, because I was taking an acting class at the time that my tooth broke and had to be pulled! oh well...it's been a year & a half and still no tooth there to replace the one I lost. that'll change within the next month or two. ugh...I really need a job with a good dental plan! lol
