August 2, 200619 yr It was so hot here today that it was 100 degrees, and with the heat index it was 124 degrees!!! I had to sit in the office behind 2 fans. Then i had to go outside in full uniform and change a flat tire. Anybody else getting hot weather?
August 2, 200619 yr It has been really hot here in TBay also and very uncomfortable on my bus with no A/C. In Minneapolis it was even worse or better depending how you look at it. I like it if I'm not working.

August 2, 200619 yr Yeah felt like 46 d C here in Ancaster. Went swimmin for like 3 hours and burnt my upper back and shoulders pretty good
August 2, 200619 yr We had hot weather in Alabama too. It was 98 with a heat index of 105. I had a excovater catch on fire on Interstate I-20, so I had to shut down west bound traffic and rerout it to US Hwy 78 form about 45 mins. About 10 mins. into the rerouting and about 150 yrds. in front of me a box delevery truck comes in to fast and flips over on its side and slides over on to the shoulder of the interstate,.(no injuries) All said and done I was wet all over and in need of alot of water. So I fell for you guys and gals that do not get weather like this all the time. All I could think about was that it is almost as hot as it was druing my time in Iraq during the first gulf war.

August 2, 200619 yr i work in a place with no AC,no fans no nothing to even move the air.it's terrible right now. everyone walks around like thier ready to kill someone.haven't seen 1 smile all week.

Also a good chance for severe T-Storms this afternoon unfortunately i might have to drive in that going to the Albany airport to pick up a friend that is coming in from TN. 2hr drive to the airport and another 2 hrs back. Its already 86 with a heat index of 97 and it's only 11amEST

August 2, 200619 yr It's in the 70s at...upper 70s...during the day the heat index is getting up to 101*. That's not as bad as you though Wolfey; I heard it's pretty bad up in Massachusetts too! My friend from there told me it's supposed to be 105* with a 115* heat index. We here in Ohio though are getting some relief with a "cold front" tomorrow so the temps will drop back to the low-80s during the day. Mom & I DO have a pool in our backyard...anyone wanna come over & swim?

I have to work again today, i think i'm going to die putting on my vest and everything. The weather is so bad that they are offering free entry into all state parks. Thank god i have a pool.
August 2, 200619 yr Central, IL is experiencing (and has been for the last several days) mid to upper 90's with indexes 110-115. Dew points in the mid to upper 70's.. Supposed to finally get a break tonight after midnight when some rain, and cooler air arrives. We'll see. Had to work a really bad fatality accident yesterday in it, not fun with all that gear on and the heat. TFD
