It's normally used to describe a common soldier. There were many different uniforms and equipments released by the Wehrmacht throughout World War Two but the general look always remained the same. The uniform colour, except for the Waffen-SS and late war Heer units, was field grey and the typical German M35 helmet was used for the whole war. Read more...
