Battlefield 2142 InGameAdvertising

Featured Replies

IGN posted an article about the BF2142 Multiplayer Beta and they mentioned that 2142 will have some sort of in game advertising.

"It seems Battlefield 2142 will be incorporating in-game advertising in the form of textures on billboards. According to a representative from developer DICE, this won't translate into any kind of benefit for gamers, such as a price drop. There also won't be any way to turn it off. It seems the absurdity of placing contemporary company ads in a game set 136 years in the future wasn't a factor when the contract was signed. As to who'll be providing the ads, DICE wouldn't say."

I for one never had a problem with some small advertisments in other games, however, there is no ad you could place in 2142 that didnt make it seem like they were forcing you to look at the ad. What are your guys thoughts?

Does not suprise me because everything has sponsors now a days. Even my old high school football team (nike and underarmor).
