I have been noticing wierd files appearing in my HL directory with wierd symbols and not extention. The files show to be 0 bytes in size. There were hundreds of them. I started noticing them appear a few months ago. :? Anyway I deleted them  I may have wished I had not but they are in my recycle bin if I need to restore them. I was just wondering if anyone knows what they are?Thanks[TA]-StateCopPS they were in the C:SIERRAHalf-Life directory.
You don't need them for anything. Make a .bat file in your Half-Life directory and call it delevil.bat, in the info line type del *. and save it. Whenever the files come back run that file.
those files don't do anything.. its a glitch...nothing bad nothing good. they just sit there and look pretty. I named one of them Phillip
I have posted long time ago a post with this name i think : HL folder and @#~@ files...sometime this same files with 0 byte are in the root directory c: but caution, delete them manualy cos in win xp, there is some system files who are the 0 byte too.But in the folder of HL, it have a little .bat file who delete itself this 0 byte file but some have a extention like : "@#~{.¤@^" after the dot. those files must be deleted manualy too.I dont remember the web site with the files, but i shall send you all in your mail the "batchfile.bat" who delete by clicking on.Next.Egidio.
