Walker/mech Good or Bad in Demo At Least

I find this cumbersome thing very slow, makes me motion sick and the guns can't kill an infantry from 20 feet away before they overheat. There is such a big muzzle flash that you can't see where you are shooting and apparently you have to be very accurate to kill someone because you'd figure the splash damage from firing to overheat should kill someone.
I have to admit. the autocannons in 2142 seem even weaker than the pathetic on the Cobra in BF2, but maybe that's not a bad idea. Just think of all teh times the cannons on the Russian helo have rained unstoppable destruction, single handedly turning the tide of a game. Defintaely a game balance issue. My biggest thing with the walkers is the fact that my team definately lit one up with something 10 AT missles before the thing went down.
I don't know as of right now, they definitley seemed toned down from the demo. The anti-tank weapons are really that powerful as of right now, it takes a lot to do damage.

There are a lot of inballances right now.

The machineguns, mounted that is, are way underpowered.

If you want to stay alive. Hop on a ground defense turret. They take a lot of punishment.

They are okay, but the guns do overheat way too quickly, you would think the future would have a much better cooling system, and they have alot of armour which can make them hard to take down.

Well considering the main Advantave of the Cobra and Mini gins on the BH, and the 30mm on the AH-64 was the splash damage.. if you hit hte person right on its very often a 1 hit kill

they (rightly and not so rightly) removed the splash because it was reasonably overpowered vs groups of spawning soldiers (see the TV station on -sharki i think-) and this is the same with the auto cannons... its a shame that a round that large doesnt have splash though, even if it is small splash it could do with a tone up

it would be nice if the guns would take longer to over heat, but it basically forces you to fire short accurate bursts. once you get the hang of it you begin to naturally compensate for the walker's movement (sea sickness/beer goggles).

it doenst bother me that much. but i guess all those years of "Earth Seige", "Mech Warrior", and "Armored Core" really have paied off.

also just some Piloting tips to you all. fire the guns in 2 round bursts for medium to long range shots, and you can just blow ammo at close range (remember to keep an eye on you're heat gauge). Also firing missles while shooting the main cannons adds to the same heat scale i believe. so choose you're targets wisely. the mech is mainly an offencive anti-infantry vehicle, but can also function as a medium to long range defencive anti-armor vehicle. If your missles are not connecting, remember, depending on which walker you have the missles will fire from different positions (either alternating left and right, or just one side) you have to move the torso accordingly at short to medium range to hit your target. Also a top gunner is a necessity, ESPECIALLY in titan mode. i know it sucks to be the Anti-Air guy on a walker, but this game is about teamwork, not who gets the most points. besides the walkers' main guns have a limited vertical range so they cant take care of it them selves.

in summary,

Walker: Medium to long range Vs. vehicles, Short to meduim range against infantry. use shields only when necessary. short burst fire with main guns. only fire missles in small bursts of 2 or 3 to prevent overheating. compensate for missle pod arrangements. and check your 6 constantly. also learning to judge angles helps for walking helps (so you can steer while firing to the rear). when possible team up with another mech/tank/apc with engineers around. and last but not least, Teamwork is key.

class dissmissed.

I havnet played it yet... =X.

What are you waiting for?

Are you just too caught up in WOW?

I actually found piloting it was easier than the tanks in the game. The gunner position is kinda fun although I couldn't get the missles to train real well.
i think that they can take out a tank like nothing is kinda stupid. I think that they are kinda over powerd. But who am I lol:D
I think they're just fine the way they are. I don't have a problem with taking them out and when your in one I don't any problem with hitting my targets or motion sickness.

I don't have a problem with them. I just don't like how the guns over heat to quickly.

Now when I first got into one of those hover tanks that was fun to drive, for the first time. :D

Take off those dark glasses.

Minimize details. j/k :D

Use sprint key. I found it would go on and on and on like a timex in sprint. :D

Still working on the aim.

Those rockets, are they heat seaking AA ?

I'm just trying to get used to the hover tanks much less the walker. you know you'd think you could hover over water too but you sink like a rock

I feel ya...the first time I tried to go over the water....sheesh... KABLAMOO. :D :D

Funny I thought the samething :D

I LOVE THE TANKS. I love the zooming ability and the hit boxes and the power of the shells and such. These are SO much funner than in BF2. I've already taken out a walker with the hover tank and we were head on.

The walkers are fun but I still like the tanks a lot more.

Yes I was very surprised at the nice zooming feature. I love these new tanks. And one of them is named after me :D well half of me :)

You can't hover on water in the future sillies don't ya know anything?

You think in the future they would have figured how to hover over water :) :D :p
