1 How you can't switch weapons without getting out of zoom. Takes just that much too long to switch from AR to handgun or knife because you have to unzoom first. The worst is when you fire a AT at a Walker then you have to unzoom before you can hide to reload. By that time the Walker has killed you or at least seen where you are. Don't like this at all.

 

2 When I customize a Kit it doesn't stay where I left it. Next game starts and I have to add the defibs or unlocked gun or whatever every time. The problem with this is when the round starts you don't want to be fooling around choosing crap you want to be a buggy and getting the precious caps. So, you end up at the first flag with no defibs or the gun you want. You may say it doesn't take long to choose but why should you have to in the first place. It could at least save your last config.

 

3 Key setup. In BF2 you could bind knife and say primary weapon to the side mouse buttons and that is what you always had there. Now I press my button for primary weapon and in Assault I get the primary AR and in Engineer I get the AT rocket. Not good at all when the game relies on speed and quick thinking.

 

4 Can't bind key to squad VOIP. No matter what I do or how many times I rebind the key to chat in VOIP it never works.

 

5 Stats. The fact that I played up to 750 points and got only 2 unlocks up to there then all of a sudden they all ranked up in one game. Some players were light years ahead by now with all kinds of gizmos while I had none but nades and sprint. EA knew there was a constant problem in BF2 with this especially on weekends but they did NOTHING to prepare for this new game. Horrible support. I guess it's all about spending as little as possible to get the game out and hope people don't complaing too much and if they do just ignore them.

 

Makes me wonder if any of these guys are actual gamers or not. Great game for sure but little annoying things make me wanna smash my monitor even worse than in BF2.

2) Actually, the kits will stay as long as you stay on the server. It's only after the server crashes or you disconnect that they should be resetting.

3) It throws me off too that the Engineer rocket is in the primary weapon slot. I keep wanting to switch weapons and I'm so used to my assault config I get the wrong weapon. (I use mouse wheel to weapon switch)

4) I had some issues getting my crouch to bind the first day. I just kept at it until it took. Haven't had issues since.

5) OMG the unlock issue is a big one. Being able to get the new toys and whatnot is a big reason to play the game. Why the HELL haven't they made this fully operational by now??

 

Actually, I have a new beef. This is what, the 4th Battlefield? Why the hell haven't they come up with a way for the game to read your previous game binds and load them into the new game? That annoys the HECK out of me.

4. I have had the same damn problem...but with my crouch and prone buttons.

I agree with all of it, the gameplay is good, but its the little things that get annoying

2142 has its quirks, but the balance and gameplay overall are way above BF2. Since EA went sci-fi, it allows for better overall balance due to people not having "real life" expectations.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great game. Despite it's bugs I'd put it miles above BF2 in experiance.

Yeah, this is how I feel too. Makes the game no fun when you are outmatched in weapons. Heck, I still can't even get the grenades to throw!!! My 7 key doesn't work. It's getting more than a little annoying for me. I'm hoping all this gets worked out, cuz I don't look forward to playing the game when I get out of work. Normally I go home and shoot and kill people and then go to bed. Makes me sleep better at night. I just want to have fun, and right now it's not fun for me. Reading the forums, I am not the only one having these problems, but it still doesn't make it any better.

The only way they could make it so you could use your previous key setup is if they made the control scheme all the same. Kinda what klink said. They need to keep the primary weapon in slot 3 for every kit not just one.
