November 10, 200619 yr Due to the onslaught of issues EA has released with DICE's 'Battlefield 2142'; I have decided to make a list of fixes that i have heard of and both used to simply play the game. The biggest being the "EA LINK" cd key error. EA has just offically silently addressed a fix for the problem here just download the two links at the bottom and it should solve your problems. Problem number two, is another major problem is the "EA MASTER SERVER DISCONNECT" issue. This can be fixed by a small regedit change, which can be explained here. Problem three, "wheres my making of video and soundtrack from preordering? Click Here. Problem four, "titan shifting", theres no fix for this besides munity against commanders who move titans, and join servers with active admins that have a clearly stated message "move titan after shields down and you will be kicked". (i truly don't get why they don't just force the titans to halt after their sheilds are down for now. The next problem to be fixed is the "I got shot with what? How many points did that get me?", Check out this "tweak" that lets you change the in game text so you know what you are getting points for and what the gun was you got shot with: http://www.totalbf2142.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6526 How do i remove ads from the game? I found this "1: Have GIMP or Photoshop. Go to nVidia's website and download their Photoshop/GIMP .dds plugin pack. 2: Download http://micolous.id.au/projects/bf2142/ (Ad Cache editor 0.1.1). 3: Backup your directory as it instructs you to, and then use the program to open the database (My Documents\BF2142\icontent.cache 4: Export all of those pictures (named 194-199) and then open them with GIMP/Photoshop. 5: Edit the pictures *directly* and then either save over them or save them in a different location - don't mess with the settings, just keep it as it is or else it will mess up. Make sure the picture is flat (one layer) so it doesn't try to save it as a different format. 6: Using the same program you extracted with, import the NEW pictures with the corresponding filenames. That is, import your new #194 over the old #194.
