January 2, 200718 yr Put the headphones away someplace safe when you are not using em? Do you have kids? lol My computer 95% of the time is used by me. I jump on and off all day long so I usually leave my headphones on the computer desk........Anyway I had a simple question. I need a tough set of headphones. Does anyone else have any ideas?
January 2, 200718 yr I have a set of Plantronics that stand up pretty well. My mom babysits and i have kids yanking all the time on them and i had them for almost 2 years and they have only had a minor issue....one headphone (left side) doesnt work. That is my only issue sund is ok but for 30 bucks i think theyve been a good deal. If i find a link ill post....Mac has a bunch and i think theyve lasted him pretty long also.
January 2, 200718 yr Seems I'm not the only one who upgraded this month. I do have a suggestion for those who get frustrated with headphone and mic problems. I myself buy my headsets at BestBuy. I also pay for the 2-year plan. I have kids and other things happen. The mic stops working cause the boom gets overworked. A bad chair rollever on the cable can stop one side from working etc.. The list goes on. By getting the 2-year plan, you can instantly solve any headset issues by saving the receipt and walking into a BestBuy and replacing the old headset with a new one for any reason. And its only $15-$20 extra dollars. Do that on a $20 headset and your set. Last year I probably went through 5 headsets. But, one day after they broke, replaced brand new.
January 3, 200718 yr EaglezEye I just ordered Sennheiser 555 headphones from Amazon. It will be a week or two before I get 'em, but once I do I can let you know how sturdy they are.
January 3, 200718 yr I just bought the cheapo BF2 headset for 10 bucks, works great. I had an expensive headset to which my kids wrecked, so I know exactly what you mean LOL. So if these ones break its no biggie, but I've had this one for 6 months already and so far so good.
January 3, 200718 yr Author Also now thinking about gettin a couple more things: To replace my ATI Radeon 9600xt- http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1960935&sku=TC3H-1058 And to replace my 280W PSU- http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=719600&sku=T13-2013 And the new total cost (with tax and shipping) = $571.04 Now only if my dad will let me use his credit card for this aha.
January 3, 200718 yr Be advised. Tiger is actually charging you $73.99 with $15 mail in rebate. You have to do the rebate yourself. www.newegg.com is charging $64.99 with a $20 mail in rebate for a total of $44.99. IMO I think your going too steep in price for an AGP card. PCI-E(xpress) is the standard now and AGP is going out the door. $279 will buy you a good GeForce PCI-E card 7800GTX card and its newer and better performing. If your on a budget, I'd look at the 256 MB AGP cards, not the 512 MB cards. It will save you $150 which isn't worth the small performance boost you get by going 512 MB. May I also suggest www.newegg.com which in my experience usually beats www.tigerdirect.ca in price by $5-$10.

I'm actually not even going to do it, too much effort and waiting. Btw, $64.99 USD is $76 CAD.. I'm still not sure yet on the video card myself, I was thinking about getting the 6800 GS OC but wanted something with a little more power. 2 of my friends just got new comps so I will be checking if they have any decent parts I can buy off em. I'm hopin to grab a PSU off one Newegg does not ship to Canada. (noticed the Canadian flag by my name?)

I bought a cheap logitech from the BX on base and have been cycling it out ever since. I usually have to buy a new one and return the old one. (My wife's idea and it works out ok.) I also some rewardzone money coming in soon.

Whats nice about mine was that the normal cord is really short, because it used an extention on it with volume control. Well, the volume control went pretty bad so I just bought a 6ft extention cord for the headset, works great. And if something happens to happen to that cord it was like $5 lol.
