Same way for pretty much the rest of the games, people take the source code and modify them. It's the same mod tool as bf2, EA hasn't been to helpful to the mod teams. People can add new skins/vehicles and code them in.

If you recall,bf2 is a sequel to the bf1942 mod Desert Combat,wich was a blast.They (im not sure) hired-associate-partnership with the moders,DICE,and develop bf2.

 

Think they now have few to win to let people develop mods.What is their interest.

 

And yes,my birthday is the 28 january

Doesn't PB see them as a change in the source code and kick you for using them?

pb is not used in these mods and theses mods will not be ranked

Ah ok, so they are separate servers. Do you need to modify your own files or are the changes handled server side?
You usually need to download the client version, there aren't too many server side mods like in half-life.
