The biggest blackout in history has occured throwing the Northeastern Portion of the U.S. and parts of Canada into darkness. This'll be the thread to share your stories I guess.I was on the 3 train in Manhattan, it's an express train so we were going fast. All of a sudden the brakes came on and the train stopped in 66th street which was a local station. Then an alarm went off and the lights in the station started flickering on and off as people on the platform ran for the exits. Me and the other riders on the train waited for about 45 minutes while the conductor and driver, along with two other MTA workers put down the air brakes. Then we were evacuated from the train by getting off from between two of the cars near the middle of the train, then we walked across the local track and were pulled onto the platform. From there I was faced with a walk from 66th street to 238th street. It took me 4 hours to get home.
Yes, I was in Ancaster, Ontario, so I was affected by this also, this morning it was back up. Still, some places don't have all of their power restored yet. In the news, its reported that by the end of the weekend, everything should be back to normal.Power shut off at 4:11. We just listened to the radio for the rest of the day.
I was on this computer, in Stratford P.E.II turned around to watch news and heard there was a massive black out.My area was not affected.......
I think you should check first if there is no other thread on the topic before you start it......

I think the other thread already turned in to a political debate

I think the other thread already turned in to a political debate

I made this thread so people could mainly tell their stories, not debate about anything.

My story of this whole ordeal.Me and my friend and brother and his friends saw on the news what happened, and when the report said "It is not an act of terrorism" we all laughed heartily. Then later we went to see Freddy Vs Jason which was very funny. Quite a day.

I think you should tell us where it is Mr. KIt's right below this post. But since this post will be bumped up now, the original thread will now be a few threads down.
I was at home on the computer and on the phone with my cousin when everything shut down at 4:50pm, saturday. I didn't know the blackout was that widespread until I called my cousin again and he told me all the news flashes. But the blackout was no biggie to me cuz all I did was go outside and do some yard work. The power came back at 8:30am the next morning, as I was about to leave for some place. I been through worse blackouts before, like during the ice storm of 1993......lost power for about a week. So this one didn't phase me one bit.
I was about to play firearms when all the sudden the light dimmed and my computer screen flashed. Then the second my screen flashed there were these white bars arcross the screen with green number between them, reminded me of the matrix lol
