March 19, 200718 yr Wed. I shipped my Asus mobo back for a refund, The EVGA mobo for replacement, and the 8800 and PSU back for replacement. Sat UPS shows up at my door to pick up a package. Then today, Mon. they show up again for a package. I'm now very angry and frustrated with Newegg! I call them up, they say they are sending the ASUS mobo back to me. I tell them that was a refund, she says well we are shipping it to you. I tell her none too politely that i am not shipping the ASUS back to them at my cost, I WANT A REFUND. She then tells me they are giving me a refund on the EVGA mobo!!! I tell her no, I want the EVGA mobo. She then turns around and says they are sending me the EVGA mobo. I tell her i am so confused. She then says they will charge me for the EVGA mobo! I lost it!!! I said i already paid for it and returned it, for a replacement. Now she says okay you are confusing me.. GRRR So, I just say you know what I will call you back in a hour because YOU ARE PISSING ME OFF!!! I got a guy and he said that he would straighten everything out, and that my EVGA mobo is on its way for Wed. They havent received the PSU or graphics card so its looking like next week before i get them. I think this is so disgusting this whole incident. I'm really frustrated and pissed off! I need to chill.
March 19, 200718 yr Freakin newegg. I can't say I have had problems with them, but what your going through is horrifying.
March 19, 200718 yr Author you probably would've been better off getting a pre-built system. Absolutely not! I've built over 9 systems, and this is the only one I have had really major problems with. I had this system up and running, but.. sigh.. the PSU bit the dust. I dont like the choice of prebuilt computers because you never get the mobo and other parts of your choice. Besides its always cheaper to build your own. I do have to say its also supposed to be fun, and it hasn't been for me so far. But, barring any defective equipment, I think it will get done soon.
March 19, 200718 yr Well I guess for all the smoothness that Newegg usually has, eventually they have to have a bad mess up. I guess you were just the really unlucky person on the recieving end of the mess up. Sorry
March 19, 200718 yr I totally agree with Wolfey about building your own...you get more performance for your buck doing it your way (i.e. the BK Build) and the pride of using a rig you built. In regards to Newegg...well I have had a few run in's with them...but for some reason I will generally migrate back time after time, such as today...ordered a sata hd, a mic (just to talk trash with you guys while playing) and a sata burner. I hope I don't get the same treatment that Wolfey got...we might have to make a road trip in that case

This is the first time I have had any problems. they have always been good to me in the past and replaced items . I'll still continue to buy from them because they are the best. It just has been frustrating to me to get setup and then boom psu bites dust on new mobo.

I was just saying since you had great luck in building your own rig, you should've bought a pre-built...would've been less of a headache in this case.

I am totally down with this...most the builds I have done, if not all, have had at least one component come from Newegg...they can hold their own by me. However, when you do get frustrated by bad support, even if it is one time, at that time...you can get to the point that you want to choke the life out of someone. IMO when you do get bad support it is usually an individual and not the company at fault. Newegg...will more times than not...make things right one way or the other. As far as bad components...that just sucks pretty hard...this alone can make ya nuts...to have all the stuff together and to have one weak link set ya back.
March 20, 200718 yr Glad to see you're having lots of fun Wolfy I'm planning on building my own soon and hope i have more luck than you are i hope my words have made your day better btw if you have any advice on what i should buy you should help out on my thread
