ya i got it last week

im not really that impressed

its very simmaler to WoW but it just doesnt feel the same

or as good

might want to give it a shot while its still free

but if you liked wow id stick to that

and if you didnt its nothing better

Ehh, I'm in Vanguard right now. Got tired of the "Chuck Norris Kiddies" in WoW. Vanguard is a helluva lot more challenging. I'll pass this on to my wife tho, she was kinda interested in trying that game.

from the people that have played both this and vangaurd there like LOTR more. It doesnt take that great of a comp to run at top grahpics and its a lot less buggy. the OOC channel is pretty much like barrens or trade channel chat from wow though it only seemed ot be that way in the starting zone witch is its only instance.

What you don't understand, the reason I AM playing Vanguard IS because of the steeper learning curve and the higher system requirements. I'm looking to get away from all the kiddies who have completely dumbed down the average MMO like WoW and bring back my days of old school Everquest where you actually had to be good at your class to get anything out of the game. WoW, and everything else, is like playing Whack a Mole... there's no challenge to it anymore.

But hey, different strokes for different folks. I will be passing this link on to those I feel will like it though.

i mightve stayed with vangaurd if my system couldve handled it. but yeah i get what you mean with the kiddies i ahted running instances with immature people and it was easy to tell who they were. plus the chance at some really nice server events that go along with expainsons like battle for helms deep, battle for gondor then mordor could really make the game great.
interface and design looks a hell of a lot like WoW.

stol'd..

As far as I know WoW 'borrowed" liberally from EQ and Eve(I think that's the one). There were actually studies done on how to best setup a UI. Where to put the minimap etc... That's why they look so similar.

Freaking MMOs though.

Where is FA2?!

Well WoW still wins in the category of best MMORPGs (other than all of the damn 10 year olds that play and dont know how to play any classes :|)

i wouldnt say wow is the best mmo. Blizz had a large following with Diablo Starcraft and warcraft so when they launched all of their fans bought it. now with LOTR warhammer and Bioware all major frahcises coming out with games i think that they will see large numbers too.
I've been playing since closed beta and am hooked. It is the most fun I've had on an MMO in a very long time. THe world is beautiful, and it is very heavily quest driven. You can easily solo all the time, or find groups and get some good action there too. It certainly helps that I'm one of the world's biggest LOTR fans...

Warhammer Online will kick the butt off any MMO out if the devs really do pull off everything they have planned.

I can see all the hardcore PvP'ers in WoW leaving for Warhammer. It's a game built around PvP but also not ignoring the PvE aspect. As a matter of fact, the 2 are intertwined. What happens in one will affect the other, possibly even worldwide.

They are even planning the game where you can lay siege to each race's capital and eventually take it out. A nigh impossible task, but it can be done. And some of the siege equipment looks downright sick. Especially the Waaagh! siege tower.

:)

Personally, I'm playing with the Mythos Alpha and will hang with this for awhile. My plans are to grab Hellgate this summer and stick with these for awhile. 2 years of WoW has me pretty MMO'd out for now.

is there a link for it that i can download it from sounds kiinda fun

Vanguard runs at 5 fps on my computer. EQ2 got boring (its sad when you can offically beat an MMO). LOTR looks promising cept for 4 classes total (so ive been told) so WoW is what i am currently playing.

If anyone's interested in an Alpha invite for Mythos, send me a PM. As I earn invites, I can hand them out to people who will help test. It's only up during specific (and limited) test times until we have all the memory leaks, crashes, etc fixed.

I've used the invites I want for now, I've gotten some of my mates IRL in the game with me. We have a private Vent server we use to coordinate with since not all of them know of TAC.
