I guess I'm just not quite sure what people are referring to when they talk about pod exploiting. Please alieve me of my ignorance.

Moving the pod acrossed the map.

It's when you move the pod anywhere besides where it places you. Squad leader beacons take you straight down, some mouses allow you to change the sensitivity to allow you to control where you land.

Steering the pod as it decends is the gist of the exploit there's a way to get it to move more than just a couple of feet. it is also the exploit used for those who get on top of buildings if you were wondering how they got there thats how... hope this alieve's you of your lack of info

Not a hacks, just a little exploit.

Wait... can you move the pod regularly without exploiting? All I can ever do is spin around in circles.

Nope, that's basically whats supposed to happen.

You can hold left or right and move the pod a little bit, but not enough to make a huge difference.

Imagine you're a fish, you steer by moving the pod like a fishes tail, back and forth, just not complete circles and press the s key while doing so and it will move you backwards. This means away from the direction you are facing.

 

Do not do this to cheat, this is so you don't accidently do this. I hate this exploit and if I had administrative powers I would spend more time banning than playing, I see it on every map and everytime I play on the-Armory server. It bugs the doody out of me. It seems to be a few people with clan tags from other clans, I think the =FUCU= guys do it, and there's another I will let you know when I see it.

My understanding was that flying the pod is just a normal tactic. YOu can aim at men and at FAVs and kill them with a pod hit. Not cheating far as I know! The cheat was when you flew all over the place (a hack) and wasn't forced to land... What the heck is the difference between a hack, a cheat and an exploit? (hmmmm)

I always wondered why the spawn pods were not as manuvaurble as the launch pods like on the APCs, Titans and those new pods in NS.

Anybody caught moving the squad beacon will be dealt with, having to adjust the sensitivity and doing special mouse movements is not a "tactic".

CLARIFICATION:

 

-APC/TITAN/ground based Pod launchers can be controlled to a certian extent, this is allowed. There is a way to 'fly' the all over the map, this is not allowed.

 

-Squad Leader Spawn Beacon (SLSB) Pods drop streight down, this is allowed (even if you end up on a building). SLSB pods can be forced to fall at a somewhat controlable angle, covering a good distance, this is not allowed.
