Okay, I dl Northern Strike and put patch 1.25 on. Now I'm getting that the server only allows for unmodified content and to revert to my original 2142 installation. No idea what it is talking about. I really dont know what happened. So, how do I uninstall NS and reinstall it? I can't find it in the folders. :cool: I'm getting a little ticked off too.

That sucks. I feel your pain. I had the same issue with patch 1.2. You should be able to use EA Link to uninstall, then reinstall any components and or patches. Uninstalling, then reinstalling did the trick for me, but it was really annoying.

Wolfey is not the only one i have the same problem as well. I don't know what posessed me to play NS (cause it crashes every 5 seconds). It seems like when i want to play it there is always something stopping me from playing it:mad:

well i would uninstall and then install in the order they came out all of them (game, 1.1,1.2,ns, and then 1.25) just me but i donot have any probs gettin on any server as of yet

Its the BF2142 bug or the EA bug but anyhoo uninstall in order of date came out should work if not dont bother EA because if they cant get it work the first time they wont ever get it to work :cool:

Theoretically, the "Full" designates a cumulative update (that's why they're so damn big) and you should be able to just uninstall, then re-install 1.25. When it happened to me (come to think of it, it might have been 1.1) that's all I did to fix it.

 

I believe that this bug surfaces when EA Link doesn't finish the update properly, and therefore doesn't update the appropriate registry entries. So that when you go to play, the servers do not recognize that the patch has been applied. Now that I think about it, I seem to remember that there's a way to force the registry to update, but they (EA) don't recommend it.

 

What you are trying to accomplish, is to re-install, hoping that whatever caused it to miss last time (coincidental interference from another process is my guess) doesn't happen again, and EA Link can update the appropriate registry entries. Unfortunately, EA Link won't let you re-install until you uninstall, because it thinks the patch has been applied. It would be much simpler if EA Link had a "Repair" function like Windows or others.

you souldn't need it but u would do it anyway just as if you were doing it when they were being released and never uninstalled anything

Just un install and re install and eventually it will work If you are getting the actual entire DL of the patch. Sometimes several files are omitted for some freak reason and that is why the appropriate registry files are not altered much like what Kneebender was saying but yeah just uninstall and try try again!
