Help! Repairing inlatable raft!

Featured Replies

I am going floating on a river tomorrow and I have discovered a very small, less than pinpoint sized hole in the side of it. I need suggestions on how to seal it up (doesn't need to be a long lasting seal, just need it for the day)

I need to get it sealed by tomorrow and I need SERIOUS suggestions, please. I don't know if duct tape will stay in the water, and I put some silicon bathroom sealant stuff on it but it says it could take 24 hours to set. I have about 11 hours.

Quick! Help! Please!

Roommate lose his blow up doll? ;)

goto your local toys R us and see if they have any vinyl paddling pool patches.. if you are really desperate try a bicycle innertube repair kit..

anything else wont stay on well

Shotty... please don't be difficult! I am having an inflatable emergency here! A crisis! I could drown!

O.K. then dude roll that baby in water to find the hole.

You need a piece of rubber about the same thickness as your boat, clean the area with alcohol, sandpaper it to make it rough so the patch sticks, put glue there that comes in any patching kit and let it dry a bit til sticky then add the patch and clamp it down with something.

Getting another is not an option. This thing is vintage. It is a clear raft with like 30 cupholders on it. The cupholders are rainbow colored and the thing is the size of a queen-sized mattress. It is pretty pimpin.
You gotta have that kind of cement from a tire patching kit that smears around nice to seal. Super glue might leave an air space I think.

nail polish? huh?

I stuck some contact cement on there, gonna test that out in the morning. If that doesnt work then I am trying liquid nails. If that doesnt work... ugh.

i would just put some clean hole, tape it on hole and glue the outside part of tape enclosing any hole. probley electrical tape.

Liquid Nails for the win. I put some of that on the hole and it help up wonderfully today. No leaking at all.

There is a difference between correct "grammar" and a typo.

I will gladly point out that you did not use correct grammar, either.

It is grammar. It is NOT grammer.

:) :)

best suggestion it is the one from Klink, if applied well it could last forever, don't forget sandpaper it and spread the glue well, you might also want to wait a little before applying it depends on the glue properties
