May 24, 200718 yr crop off the extra space around the sides, then resize it oh wait, it is too tall, eh. well lets see here... well seeing as other people live here, I cant use it, but I cropped it so that it cut about half of the helmet off at the bottom of the picture and stopped right above her head, and it looks fine on desktop P.S. May 24, 200718 yr I posted a reply in the SC2 thread about the pricing but I removed that, so I'll post here that way it's in the right place. The reason why they are doing a monthly subscription is so they don't have to do full expansions. It's makes it easier on them to release for one, and also players don't have to wait for a huge install (via download, patch, or on CD). You're going to pay for the new content one way or the other. They just made it a bit easier on the fundage. Sure, the paying customers get stuff first. But what business doesn't work that way? None that I can think of. I'm sure they may add some sort of expansion option for those that don't want to pay a montly fee. But, to be honest, $9.95 US is very reasonable. I used to pay close to that when I had a Gamespy/Fileplanet subscription. I for one will be buying the collector's edition and paying the monthly fee for several reasons. 1) I want to support them and any future product. 2) They are creating a free game already called Mythos and those servers have to be supported too. 3) Someone's got to help pay for the servers that the free players are going to play on.
May 24, 200718 yr Hmmmm somehow every single online RPG that isnt monthly pay seems to be able to support servers fine. If I buy a game I want, I don't want to have to pay more for it every month. Sure, 9.95 isnt that much, but it is the principle of it. And no, they didnt make it easier on the fundage. Expansions usually cost, what, $30. If that game is good then it will still be fun to play after 5-6 months, without an expansion. Then the expansion comes out, buy it for $30. That is half of what you are paying if you are getting small monthly updates at $9.95 a month. I just want to buy a game and be through with paying for it. MMO's are fine and all, I just don't want one. And I believe that Mythos is running from the same servers as Hellgate. That is the whole reason for the creation of it, to test engine and server problems with a simple game so that they can be more easily figured out for Hellgate. I for one don't mind waiting for expansions. I DO mind other people being able to totally dominate a game just because they like to throw away their money on monthly fees. I wouldn't care if they were making it just so that the pay-to-play people just got new content, but they are basically making them the overlords of the game (They get free elite items, only they can start guilds, they get to skip ahead in server queues.) So GG Flagship.
