Hey exactscience, you call american football girly, but I have actually heard that there are many more injuries in american football than in Rugby. I guess this is due to the fact that in Rugby there is no blocking and there are more tackling rules. I disagree that american football is "girly." Sure, there are pads. But then that just increases the amount of force people will put behind a tackle. In Rugby most of the tackles are more about technique and you can't tackle above the shoulders. In american football there is, of course, tackle technique, but brute force is very effective as well. So I disagree with it being, in any way, "girly."

And Klink, if you are doing your job well on the play as a reciever then you WILL get the ball thrown to you, and if you are up in the air trying to catch it while a defender hits you with his whole force then you won't feel good anymore.

and once again Ripper the reason that those hits look so bad its that they are on skates on ice. Not wearing cleats on turf.

Nascar....

TFD

lol I don't get the point of Nascar. Curling's more exciting than Nascar

And I wasn't suggesting Hockey is a good sport just because it's tough, it's because people were saying it wasn't very tough. Do football/baseball referees allow players to fight (until one falls ofcourse :D ) Yead I didn't think so

id say both sports have their hits

but rugby NO HELMETS

the hits are different

but they have nothing covering their head or face

anyone that can take those hits with nothing on and come back for more

is much tougher in my book

and again why is best team sport to watch == toughest

it seems like you guys would think that a team of 2v2 battle to the death would be the best to watch than

Im not saying that it is the best because it is the toughest, I was just comparing the toughnesses.

Yeah in rugby they don't have helmets (some do, actually) but it is also illegal to tackle their head... I see your point, but once again the tackling is just different.

American football and rugby are equally tough? No one is going to win this argument... lol
Oh woops I'm not trying to prove that one is tougher than the other, I am just saying that American Football is NOT girly

KFA Allow to retort:

Used that one because it had the same song as yours

I was trying to find this one hit that I saw this year. This guy was returning a punt and one of the guys pursuing him gets blindsided and just totally destroyed. It was the hardest hit that I have ever seen. The guy flew probably about 5 yards backwards in the air. A coach showed it to me at school and I don't know where he got it from. He had it on a cd.

Basically just different tackling. I noticed that most of the hits in rugby are much better form tackles than in NFL. I guess that is because you have to pin in rugby but in football you just gotta knock em down.

i think my respect comes from the no pads

if they had shoulder pads and helmets i would say

they are equally tough but just different forms

but in rugby theres tons of guys bleeding all over

and they keep going didnt see any blood in your video

theres the same hits of two people going oppisite directions at full tilt (probably the worst possible hit)

would you rather do that with leg pads should pads and a helmet

or none?

there both tough guys but thats a whole nother thing to do that with nothing on

Blood you say? Dick Butkus once bit a guy's finger off during a game. I dont think there is a video of that though

And Lawrence Taylor more or less destroyed people.

This is nasty. The quarterback's name is Joe Theisman. This injury ended his career. If this doesn't make your leg hurt, then you have no empathy.

i have an autographed Lawrence Taylor helmet in my room

... Thats not cool...

But I think I have you beat.

Bill Belichick is a personal friend of mine  I call him Uncle Bill.

lol, this went from "which is your favorite" to "which is more tough"...Still can't believe the lack of interest in hockey.

generally its pretty boring

its harder to watch because the puck is small and goes fast

while there are certianly good games

im not a fan of the sports that its easy to get in a scoring position

(ie basketball, hockey ect) and with hockey its worse because its hard to score

so theres no build up of action or anticipation of a score

its just someone screwed up and they scored yay

id rather watch a team go 100 yards you can see how they are doing on each play

instead of one play determining a whole game

And similarly I can't stand watching sports where referee's have total control. Where one bad call can determine the game.
Yeah but that rarely happens now in football because there is replay reviews of plays now. Really the only thing they can do extremely wrong is make a bad penalty call, but that can actually happen not only in football but also in soccer and hockey as well. And basketball.

But not everything is reviewable, not to mention that reviews slow down an already slow game(could you imagine baseball with replays? talk about boring). I also must saw that before anyone calls a sport boring they must go see it in person, ahhh Hockey in all its glory.

seen hockey in person

as well as racing

football

baseball

soccer

basketball

pretty much any pro sport is fun to go and watch (hockey included)

except baseball

god that is a boring sport

you can watch the entire game cut down on sports center in 2mins

and i know a no hitter is good

but why would you want to watch that

omg he didnt hit the ball again this is exciting?

but ya hockey is just too much of nothing happening, going back and forth

than 1 shot the game is over
