My mic broke, need a new headset

Featured Replies

Ok so my mic broke and my headset sucks anyways, so I need a new one!

Preferably $50 or less

BTW if you smell something decomposing, it's ding, because he's a rotten apple

I'm talking about the ones that are headphones and then have a mic attached to them

collecting funds for something? :p

I do have my eye on this pretty little system, some birdy told me about. :D

haha just by offering to sell it you're basically saying it's not that great

amazon.com says the mic sucks so yeah that's out

Anyways, any good headsets anybody?

Just did a search in the Armory advanced search and came up with a bunch of threads with the word "headset" in them. You should try this feature out. The ones that I was thinking about are from the this thread.

Go big, get 5.1 surround, I think I have even seen 7.1, that would be great. Or if you don't want to spend the 'big' bucks, just go to Walmart and get the cheapest ones, with a mike you can find, in 2.1 unsurround.

how do these look?

Amazon.com: Customer Reviews: Edimensional Audiofx Gaming Headset

Some people are saying the mic is a little too short but take some scissors, cut the mic thing, add some wires to lengthen it, a little duct tape and ur set

Other reviews say the mic is fine though

how do these look?

I have no personal experience with them. I still think surround is the way to go. Multidirectional sound, sounds great. Its one thing I do like about my headset. To turn around in the game and be able to I dentify exactly where the sound is comming from.

And why would you want to cut something you just got?

Mine have lots of speakers in each ear. I think if they would not hurt me I would not mind them. As it is I use them until my ears hurt from the set resting on them, it is usually time to stop gaming, at least for a little while.

Will my motherboard sound card support 5.1 surround sound or do i have to get a better one?

check all these out here

one of them even has a mp3 player inside the headphones. :)

EDIT: They don't have mics but you can just a get a table mic. Table mic if you just put it on your lap or inside the drawer of your desk.

depends if you have a good motherboard
Wanna buy a razor barracuda 5.1 gaming surround headset? $90, negotiable.

:eek:I hate you,i pay for mine over 200$and more than that is lost for 2 days with all my bags by British Airways.
dont just take amazon's word for it...I use Logitech's gaming headset, true to all the reviews, hurt my ears to wear, but then I developed calluses so its fine now...and the mic works fine.

I use this one that lets me hear your shotgun sounds across the maps. It has a built in amplifier that runs on a AAA battery. The battery doesn't last too long. I know ur saying its expensive but its worth it. I referred taco to it and he loves it. If u have an XFi card coupled with this u can't go wrong.

I gotta say go with this one. Ding told me about it as well and I love it. It's a little bit more than $50, but well worth it.
