Thanks again Mr D. I love the flexibilty FAs still gives in the armor and weapon selection. It has worked well when I tested it. Love it.

 

One thing I missed was going prone. Sprinting, then going prone. Zooming in. To be able to lean righ of left around corners is not important to add in my opinion, but the more ability choices there are, perhaps the more fun it can be. :D

I had too much on my plate to learn the complex intrecacies of BF2142 well, so far atleast. :D

 

The unrealism was a factor, though a small one.

 

The more realism of something like FAS or INSURGENCENCY and less to learn and remember other then team defense or offense and where, seems to get me more into it as i relate more to what our soldiers go through in their sacrifice for human rights and protection of life, no matter what. :D

Wait, you can't go prone????

Hasn't been implemented in the game yet.. They said it won't be in for the first official release either, which is pretty disappointing. Although they are still having lots of trouble with the accuracy and recoil system, so it's pretty pointless wasting time with putting in prone. But once they fine-tune that, then prone won't be too hard to code in.

Although I kow little on how the mod is coming along or what the situation is, I'd rather hold the release until all major facets of the game are atleast in some way placed into the game.

 

And proning not too hard to code in? You should remember the helm cam fiasco, with it still lingering in all of the other versions.

They said that proning was definately not in the first release. I don't know if they are even going to put it in the game. They might just be trying to make it fast paced, less campy. No proning definately helps that view along.

 

And they said they are doing a "hybrid" recoil system. I don't really know what that means, but they said some people dont like the recoil and some people do... so they are doing a hybrid.

Biggest obstacle to getting the prone stuff for the players in-game is getting sombody to do the animations for it, which isn't easy to come by.

 

Mostly we're going for a as close to as possible 2.5 feel, with the gameplay improvements of some of the later RC's features as well.

For the most part FAS is going to be straight up arcade like 2.5 was, instead of realism based like 2.6 and later releases were.

yes prone and bipods are going to make it into the game eventually... but as already stated we need the animations. im sure issa could code them into the game in a flash, but that still gets us no where to making them ballenced and visually appropriate.
