i'm not sure how many people here have steam but i think its a really good program to play other games from, but Firearms isnt on steam (nor is DoD) i was just wondering if we could get Firearms on steam?
Valve decides thatand apparently they don't see Firearms as a big enough mod to be put onto Steam.but I don't know why they don't got DoD on their either

any MOD can be accessed through steam (so says Valve). however, a steam-connected FA game cannot play against a HL-connected FA game. search the Firearms Forums for this exact same discussion.
I have been doing some testing with this and it is very easy to add your FA to steam. As Kliffy said there must be a FA server running steam....I have seen one before but not many people in it....might not be a bad idea for that 30 player test server. The cool thing about that is it is a free beta and more people could play for free. It also has some nice option that I like....and I LOVE OPTIONS!

ah, but the Firearms community seems to dislike Steam, so I doubt you'd get a lot of FA steamers if any server were to go Steam.

Yeah that is true. From what I have heard the next HL update is going to be the steam update so everyone is going to be on it. This is just rumor but it will be interesting to see what happens.

Here is an article I just saw on broadbandreports about steam. Most of it seems to be what we already know but I am worried that they are going to make the multiplayers pay-for-play

Steam would be great for TA's 30 player server as i find Steam generally reduces ping alot. it makes it alot easiler to play a game through steam. The only problem i find with steam is that it is not very PC friendly and eats up my CPU ram every1 time i switch on. there might also be a problem with Cheating Death, but i think its worth looking in to
