Titan: Mines + Bait

Featured Replies

I was thinking about this earlier today, did some searches and found nothing.

I'm sure most of you know that since the release of Northern Strike (NS) they made a new item for the Engies - Motion Mine Bait.

Throw it, all motion mines follow it and explode.

Now here is my question:

If you where assaulting an enemy titan and where out of nades/rockets/pilums/aa, but still hade mines.

Could you throw down some mines

Throw the MMB at the console, having the mines follow it

Wait and then blow up and/or possibly dmging the console?

Ps. Is this forum section dead or no? I see 100% more ARMORY STAFF post instead of regular users. imo, it deservers it's own sub-forum, but whatever!

:lightbulb:I don't think the bait works on your, or your team's mines. I believe that it only attracts enemy placed mines; unless maybe the server is set to FF=on. So, unless that's the case, this theory may not work. Wouldn't hurt to try it once, though.
No, you can't blow up the console with motion mines. Because when you place them down on the titan they disappear. Motion mine bate works on any (allied or enemy or yourself) motion mine tho.

 -There is a bug with mines falling through the titan...SOMETHIMES they stay, but will detonate shortly after being dropped. The answer to your question is YES, motion mines DO damage the console. They also have a bigger blast radius than grenades and can be used to clear halls...but I would not count on them as a primary breaching option as they are glitchy and unreliable.

 -I hope that helped.

Motion mine bait will attact all motion mines, whether it is enemy or friendly. I've taken a few stationary APCs down by laying motion mines near them and throw bait next to the APC.

Who wants to test out how many hits it takes to take out a console and the reactor? lol
