Question for you.

What do you use to fly in BF2? Keyboard, Mouse or Joystick?

I suck at flying, and indeed only take planes so i can fly over a base then jump out. I use my keyboard to fly and find it awkward, but not as awkward as using the mouse. I keep wondering whether a joystick would be more beneficial....

So, what do you use?!?!

I used to use a keyboard and a mouse and I was pathetic... Planes were OK but I couldn't fly a heli (with the except of transports), though I played with a guy who claimed he used key+mouse in attack choppers and played both as a pilot AND as a gunner (he switched to gunner when he needed hellfire rockets). Never missed...

HAX?!

Obviously ;)

I went out and bought a joystick. It was hard (for me) to handle, so I retruned it and I just use my keyboard. I guess I just got accustomed to the key assignments. I've even tried a gamepad, but met with the same results, plus, for some reason, i met with a lot of lag?

But..................keyboard!

I should probably have waited for more replies, but since your pretty good at flying i went ahead and purchased a Joystick.

Saitek Cyborg EVO Joystick

I have the same joystick. I use it for flying planes only, I'm better using the keyboard with choppers.
I used keyboard and mouse. But i wasn't any good at flying, ask anyone who saw me fly above them and ask what they thought... ;)

see, even ding can shoot me out of the sky. now that's bad! haha ;)
If I had a joystick I would use it because it seems like it would be much more fun, but all you have to do is crank up the mouse sensitivity for aircraft and it is a piece of cake.
Standard keyboard and an MX518 mouse FTW. I'm in no means awesome at flying, but I'd crank up the sensitivity whenever I got in one and I could do ok. I usually didn't get the jets on the maps. I played in the attack heli's alot though. I use the same set up, but I don't put the sensitivity as high as I do when I fly a jet. I'm pretty good at both gunning and flying, but very rarely have I flown solo and swapped from gunner to pilot. It's just to complicated.

I use my mouse and keyboard to ram transports into stuff! ftw!!! I don't make lots of friends that way of course, but effective nonetheless.

Still debating on whether a joystick would be a good investment, since we will probably switch games before too long, I am supposing. Most of the games we've looked at don't have flying, do they?

I use a joystick for planes and a keyboard/mouse for choppers. I think that's the ultimate setup. ;)

I use keyboard + mouse and I like to think that i'm pretty good at flying transports, I can land then on the back of the titan 90% of the time. I *suck* at flying the gunships though, I don't know if a joystick would make it better because I dont have one
