September 24, 200718 yr The title says it all. Any given map only loads half-way rendering the game unplayable, the computer freezes and sometimes cannot be recovered.
September 24, 200718 yr ah ha had the same problem the other day.you can so 1 of two things to fix . 1, you can redownload the ea downloader. But speaks just told me a easier fix.go to your bf2142 files and find the file intitled radial.cdb and deleted it.then the next time you try to play it'll rewrite that file and you should be all better.

Can't find, or that file is not on my system. Is that the right file, I could not find any *.cdb files. I just want to play the damn game.
September 24, 200718 yr Author Oh Klinky you are the man!!!!!!! here is how to fix it if anyone gets this too. Found on EA 2142 forums. 1. Click on your Start Menu 2. Click Run 3. Type: cmd 4. Hit 5. Type: ipconfig 6. Notice the number next to IP Address (ex. 192.168.1.135 ?OR- 192.168.2.127) 7. Type in the following: route add 72.3.184.144 mask 255.255.255.240 Example: route add 72.3.184.144 mask 255.255.255.240 192.168.1.135 -OR- route add 72.3.184.144 mask 255.255.255.240 192.168.2.127 If you have a static IP, type this instead: route -p add 72.3.184.144 mask 255.255.255.240 The -p parameter makes it "persistent" and since your IP address never changes, the route will stay in your route table even when you restart your computer. Of course now I have to work and can't play anyway. Bummer.
September 24, 200718 yr on the other way you have to set your computer to show hidden files and not hide operating files to see the one you need to delete

September 24, 200718 yr Is anyone having problems with EA Downloader w/Vista 64? It keeps asking me to install adobe flash, I click ok and flash installs fine but when I start EA Downloader it does the same thing. When I load the game I just hit cancel and EA Downloader is never loaded, I can still play the game I just can't download/install anything.
September 25, 200718 yr don't have vista and all the problems i keep hearing about it on these forums is discouraging me from it.
September 25, 200718 yr Vista ain't all that bad, yes there are problems but dorks like myself actually enjoy figuring things out. I have very few problems with gaming and zero problems with day to day tasks, I actually like Vista better than XP. I didn't like Vista as much until I upgraded to 4gb, that really helped with gaming. Firefox is the source of my problems when it comes to EA Downloader, I had to set IE7 as the default browser and now everything is gravy.

I tried, I have no idea why it wouldn't do. I turned every thing all the way down, then rebooted, no optimization. I turned everything up all the way, no optimization. I just reinstalled it and put the kiebash on those shinanigans.
