I don't know about that. Halo 2 only sold, I think, around $125 million worth on its first release day; so to effectively double their sales this year... I don't know. I think maybe that's aiming a wee bit high.

They (and I too) expect $200 million sold either today alone or by Friday.

Halo 3 already smashed the record on pre-orders. It's coming out tonight, can't wait :(
I would say i agree with the $300 million statement. The fan base on this game is astronomical(Heh...big word).
CoD4 is going to do better:D

Gotta go with Ding on this one. I'm more excited for CoD4 than for Halo 3. I really want to get Halo 3 (sadly I don't have a 360) because I'm a huge fan of the story.I've read all the books and played both games multiple times. It finally comes to a close and I want to see it. I also enjoy having friends over and just sitting around for hours playing Halo. I have 3 TVs in my Rec Room (1 27" TV and two smaller ones) so my place is great for a lan party.
I'm seriously considering buying an xbox 360 just for this game

That's what Big Brother wants. Don't give in. :(

I've wanted a 360 for a long time now, this is just another reason to buy it. There are a huge load of great exclusives that I want for the 360.

Same here, already got Halo 1&2 for my Halo-Ed Xbox, plus it's cheaper than the parts i need to upgrade my computer for COD4 heh.

Microsoft has been plagued by Xbox 360 problems in recent months. In July, the software maker said it would spend more than $1 billion to repair broken Xbox 360 consoles, and in August it disclosed that some Wireless Racing Wheel game controllers were overheating and smoking.

lol omgosh FIRE FIRE :(

Within hours after die-hard fans finally got their hands on a copy of "Halo 3," blogs brimmed with reports that special limited-edition packaging is scratching the video game disks.Microsoft Corp., which owns the studio that makes "Halo 3," responded quickly on its Xbox Web site with details for a replacement program. Customers can fill out a form and send in their scratched limited-edition disks for a free exchange through the end of December.

A Microsoft spokesman and a member of the company's outside PR firm did not immediately respond to calls and e-mails from The Associated Press requesting more information

Microsoft is selling the limited-edition version, which comes in a tin decorated with the "Halo 3" logo, for $70. A regular copy of the game costs $60, and a "legendary" version, which comes with a replica of the helmet worn by game protagonist Master Chief, costs $130. The game officially went on sale early Tuesday.Richard Mitchell, the lead writer of the Xbox 360 Fanboy blog, said one of the disks that came in his limited-edition set is scratched but the damage didn't seem to interfere with its playing.

The AP received several review copies of "Halo 3" in limited-edition tins. Both the game disk and an "essentials" disk had come loose from plastic housing designed to keep them in place. The game disk had been scratched but seemed to work fine.

HaLos cool wireless ear piece mic

Lol I have a 360 and I'm probably not going to get this game for a long time (if at all).
I was amazed at the amount of people last night who bought the $135 edition. Person after person walked out with those big black boxes, the regular edition was enough for me.

I went in to Game Stop to look for a keyboard, and nearly walked out with a Halo 3 special edition 360.

I hate playing with hand controlers. So it's a no go. Oh and 360 fry themselves too, who wants to deal with that. Although you can download free Family Guy episodes with the 360.

I <3 Halo. Halo 2 was mildly dissapointing, at least the single player, but I really enjoy the plot. Its somewhat generic, but very well told with great voice acting. Also, the MC rode a giant bomb through space into an enemy cruiser.... Its like Dr. Strangelove on crack, it doesnt get any more BAMF than that.
