Since I seem to be the only one who starts new threads: here is my newest question. When I play BF2 with the tank I try to shot the other player with the main gun by placing the cross hairs on or below the person to kill him or her. However on Saturday I could not depress the main gun low enough to shot an assault soldier coming at my tank so I shot anyway and blew him/her away. The cross hairs were not close but over their head but he blew up into the air as if I had hit him/her. Why? The shock of the shell?
Could of have hit something else and caused him to be killed by splash damage, could of been a bit of lag in the game, maybe the crosshairs aren't exactly where the shells fall. I haven't played BF2 in ages, but the hit boxes seemed to be pretty good.

I knew I wasn't going to hit him/her, I shot out of desperation. It was definitely way over their head. There was nothing behind him/her for a long way. Usually you can tell lag but the game seemed to be running well.
In BF2 they didn't not use "hitboxes". I believe it was something "mesh". Yes, if a person was in motion the boxes would lag behind a little. That is why it is hard to hit anyone "online" while they are in motion...

That's correct. There are a few videos on Youtube about it too. :klinked:
interesting I did not know that thanx for the info guys that clears up alot of anger and aggresion over bf2 lol:D
The last time I played BF2 the Hitboxes were pretty spot on. Shellshock does exist in the game, but definitely not say, Insurgency style. It just kills you in BF2. So yeah, I'll bet it was the shock of the shell passing closely. Because if I recall correctly, Shellshock was in a patch fix list.
Hit boxes lag in BF2 all u have to do is aim slightly behind a moving target same rules apply to 2142 most the people i knife. I knife behind them

I could see it knocking you down or something but killing you and flying you into the air? I appreciate the help understanding the game. Heavens knows I need all the help I can get.
