Random
POSSABLE FIXES: 1. update CD you version 4.5.1 to get and stay in the armory 2. it is BEST to download the 2.8 FULL version, for some reason or another it works better. i will try to find the fixes everyone needs as i come across your posts good luck :!: EDIT: when you get the [=green]Ticket Error you mst likely just need to relog in with steam, to do this; A. exit out of steam completely and B. re-log into steam
Random
Jasun wrote this: for the people gettin this error these are the things that i did to fix it.. Connection accepted by 69.31.6.132:27015 Error verifying STEAM UserID Ticket (34) First the easiest thing to try and this may not work for everyone was to go to steam then settings and on the account tab hit log out then log back in.. in some cases that will fix the error.. in other cases such as mine programs i run to optimize my computer removed my hl registry entrys because the game was no longer installed the normal way.. so to fix this i installed the basic hl in another directory ran it once to insert the cd key then uninstalled it then rebooted and that probelm was fixed for me.. for anyone who had the problem where you did not have a user@email in your steamapps folder and read the steam faq about installing mods their solution does not work in all instances if you run regedit and look in your HKEY_CURRENT_USER then software then valve then steam folder you will see an entry that says modinstallpath then a directory.. if that directory doesnt exist create it in my case i had to make a jasun@rochester.rr.com folder and then a half-life folder inside that and install fa 2.8 to that since then i have had no problems with anything.. hopefully this will help some people.. good luck everyone

Gator
-Donut]Something I just remembered for the ones that have/will get steam working....you might notice the sound is a bit tiny (like someone has put lots of treble in there). It happens to a few so far and all they have done is reinstalled their soundcard drivers. I have the problem, but haven't reinstalled the drivers because at the end of the day, it's not THAT bad. No, when you installed STEAM and RC2.8, you sound defaults to EAX and some other effects. Just go to the sound tab and remove the check. CD Quality is all you will need. But if I try Regular Half Life or FA I always get this, I tried reinstalling FA (with full 2.8) reinstalling steam etc logging out logging in error is still there "Error:SteamStartup() failed: SteamStartup failed with error 108: The local Steam Service is not runningFunction trace:CFileSystem_Steam::Mount()"
Scorpio
-UnwantedHero]or just take Klif's advise: http://forums.firearmsmod.com/showthread.php?threadid=55765 I'm trying to decide who I am starting to dislike more, you or Klif. As fun as it is to say Steam is fine and rub it in our faces. We are frustrated at Steam not you. Yet you have made several smart remarks to us. That is where I draw the line. If I ask for help, I want help; Not you.

WakeUpHate
For those of you who have CS Retail and used the Steaminstall w/ CS cache, I ran into a problem. "SteamProcessCall(WaitforAppReadytoLaunch) error 15:Cache read failure" would pop up when I try to update CS in Steam, and clicking the Yes button to proceed only brought me back to the same option over and over again. The STEAM forums on their website turned out to be a VERY helpful place. I would recommend that site if anyone else is having problems. Turns out 987345 people (I'm exaggerating, obviously) had the same problem. ONe person had the solution. Here it is:"what i did was Start steam and right click on "Counter-Strike", right click and go to properties. Now click "Delete Local Game Content...". Once its done with that double click on "Counter-Strike" again and it should download from content server."Worked for me, should work for you.
