A simple situation is driving me crazyI want to play a gam ei havent played in a while, the game being Polulous : The Beginning. When i put the disk in the machine nothing happens, no auto run or anything. So i think to myslef maybe it doesn't have autorun capability so i go to my computer and guess wot?!?!?! its says there is no disk in the computer. I think ...well maybe the disk is damaged so i check for scrathes and cracks and so on but apart from a few small scrathes, nothing is too bad. So i chack it on my old comp which has win98, and guess wot, it works fine, i hear u say..then why not use that comp to play it on, to which i say..no way coz that comp is about to die on me.Anyone have any ideas how to get it to work, this also happens with Roller Coaster Tycoon 1 and 2.thanx

EXACT same thing happened to me. I was wondering what is happening, and then it wouldnt burn CD's either. So we got a new burner on boxing day (Dec. 26th) and when I opened the computer up to put the new one in, the big fat cord in it was actually ripped in the middle. So, if you have say $40 Canadian lying around, this is a good investmenet to get a new one.

I think there is a bug with XP. I had a similar problem with my GPS software on my laptop. Sometime it shows up then sometime it doesnt. I actually replaced the CD drive and it worked for a while then the same thing happened again. So I am going to reformat and see if that works. does yours do it with just that disk or all disk. Try another when it is doing that and see what happens. Let me know I am interested. I will post when I have time to reformat and let you know what happens.

-Gen.Wellsy]Only a few older games, Populous, Roller Coaster Tycoon 1 and 2, thats it, newer released games work on it fine.

Oh ok...So after you put one in that doesnt work then you put another game it will work? If that is the case my problem is not the same.

When you go to my computer and click explore on the CD drive does anything show up? Not all CD's have autorun. WINXP has a feature to open the cd in the first folder but not all work. Have you tried to open it manually?
