I recently just purchased a set of new headphones to replace my old ones. I go through a set every 3 or 6 months because I admit I have a tendency to fling hardware around without regard for property damage or loss of life (hah!).
The ones I just purchased came from newegg.com for $41. They are large, with the big pads, but one thing I do like about them is that they sound AWESOME. The vibration effect in games and while listening to music really adds an extra-sensory feel that cannot be replicated with little "behind the head" style headphones.
The pad around the ears also prevents annoying things like women and children from interfereing with your game and gives you a great excuse not to do things because you can always say "sorry, I didn't hear you" (hah!). It really does block out all other sound coming from in the room so that's a nice feature to me atleast.
The in-line volume control is made for "big people hands" (read adult), so you can quickly find the volume up / down and vibration control features with ease if you actually have to listen to what other people are saying in the room.
Other than that, they are just some good 10.0 rated headphones. And for about 40 bucks you can't beat them short of purchasing some 200 dollar DJ monitoring phones. I've heard they run out of these a lot @ newegg.com and it's the only place that I know of where you can buy them. Here is the link:
