  1. STICKY THIS! You need two files from Punkbuster. pbsvc.exe pbsetup.exe Make sure your out of the game of course. 1) Run the pbsvc.exe file and Uninstall Punkbuster services from your PC. 2) Delete the pb folder from your 2142 game directory. 3) This is the key. REBOOT If you uninstall and then install without reboot, it won't work. 4) After reboot, run pbsvc.exe again to put PB back on your PC. 5) Run pbsetup.exe and update your 2142 game. Since you deleted the PB folder, it will make a new PB folder in your 2142 directory. This method has worked EVERY TIME for me. The key is the reboot. You can't prevent it from happening again, so keep the files handy on your desktop.
  2. I find logging into a different server for a while helps it update. Also, servers that run 24/7 style maps with 999 rounds yada yada don't update at all.

2142 has been experiencing a stat update problem since May 11th. EA Forums
  5. My favorite beer of all time is "Konig Ludwig Dunkel" or King Ludwig's Dark. Only served in southern Bavaria. I like Killian's Red in a Frosted Mug. I'll stick a glass mug in the freezer and let it get a nice coat of frost. Smooth poor into the mug and hmmm good. I like a nice cold Sapuro in a bottle served with Japanese Steak House food. I like a nice cold Dos Equis or "DosXX" in a frosted snifter glass with a good Mexican meal. NEVER EVER......DRINK BEER FROM A CAN.....NEVER! For those in the New England area, just in case you didn't know. Samuel Adams sucks! Horse Piss. Try drinking a beer that doesn't make your mouth feel like Kancho put some RDX in your mouth and pulled the trigger with a pilsner after taste. The only Samuel Adams worth drinking is their "Cherry Wheat" beer and thats not common and usually only found in liquor stores and not bars. If you want something different than beer but just as alcoholic, try hard apple ciders like "Hornsby's Amber Hard Apple Cider".
  6. Your assuming people want to be trained. While advice here and there is good for most players. Actual training is quite different. This requires more time than most Armory players are willing to give. If you need advice, then the appropriate forum for the game is just as good as any. If you want an individual players advice/training then ask. Most Armory members are willing to oblige.
  7. Is there a real performance boost doing SLI with the two 7800 GTX's?

Yeah, make Dirdy an admin. Cause if you make me an admin, I'll drop the hammer on these noobs. If I spam need pickup and they drive off, Banned! They TK me while I'm commanding.....bannned!

I've noticed the trends as well. We need more admins with the ability to ban people for blatant TK's and Pod Exploiting. We've only got 3 admins that I know of and most of the time they aren't on during prime time or they are not playing BF 2142. I can tell you for a fact that many times the teams are lopsided because there is one or two exploiters capping back flags over and over. And because they aren't getting kicked, the teams are lopsided longer than they have to be. I've mentioned this before and I'll say it again. The auto kick for AFK needs to be less than 5 minutes. A very big part of the team imbalace comes from the loosing sides players often going AFK cause they don't care. Players usually go AFK after map changes. Maps are won and lost in the first 2 minutes of a map. We need to set the AFK kick for 2-3 minutes. Not 5. A 50 person conquest map lasts 15-18 miutes. We are literally allowing a spot to be filled by an afk player for 1/3 of a map.
  10. The game was actually created by the Army as a recruiting tool and is supposedly the most realistic FPS out there. Because its free, alot of LAN game it. Never tried it myself.
  11. His sig really needs to be of a cloaked bunny hopper.

They all look like good changes except the "Shooting through fences" change. Alot maps have fences and I thought it was fine the way it was.

  14. Its an upgrade to your current beacon. Place your beacon on the ground and and your spawn time goes from 15 seconds to 10 seconds. Now, I'm not sure, but I think you only get the bonus time if the SL is alive. The reason I say this is I've been in squads with the 10 second spawn, I go to pod down on the beacon and then all of a sudden, I have to wait another 3 seconds. It may be only active when the SL is alive.
  15. What I find funny is that EA touted NS as an increase in the infantry fighting aspect of the game. I think its quite the opposite. NS heavily relies on vehicles. The only map in which the infantry fighting is intense is the Leipzig map and maybe a little of port Bavaria. Vehicles dominate NS. There are no tanks either. Walkers, APC's, IFV and Hatchi's are all you get. I like the fact that there are multiple walkers on these maps. You read the map histories and many of tales of large walker battles, but the map only has one walker. This is not the case with NS. I've been involved in many large walker battles which can be exciting. The maps are good as well. Port Bavaria and its L-Pod assault from below. Bridge at Remagen with its tight front area along with flowing lanes and bridgework. Liberation of Leipzig with its building work combined with sloping snow terrain and garbage clusters and walkways. What is really good about all of these maps is Rail Gun placement. On the regular maps, railguns/AA guns are placed in terrible spots with buildings or other objects in the way of the most vital/needed shots. Not the case in NS, the placements are unhindered of buildings and often aim at long lanes where vehicles often travel. Many of the rail positions even have added barricade protection as well. Even the commanders assets are grouped together more. Many times on regular maps a commander has to travel around or drop a supply crate for each individual asset. On maps like Port Bavaria, you can repair 3 of your 4 assets with just one supply crate drop. This is due to the assets being close together.
  16. The reviews better shine like a star for me to buy that game. The series has gone down hill and C&C Generals wasn't bad, but wasn't good. Its gonna have to knock some socks off for me to buy it.

  18. Well, I was waiting for the Asus 22" 2ms LCD to become available at www.newegg.com but it hasn't. While checking the site I noticed Newegg has a new monitor just in. The LG L226WT-BF 22" 2ms DVI/HDCP 1680x1050 Max/Native Rees 3000:1 Contrast Ratio. The contrast ratio beats the ASUS's 700:1 which also seems to be the standard for most 22" 2ms LCD monitors. The Newegg reviews are all good save the fact that it doesn't come with a DVI cable which I also ordered. I'll check this out and let you guys know. Reason I'm posting this now is in case your in the market for a new widescreen LCD. These are in stock at Newegg right now. The only 22" 2ms monitors in stock at this time.

  20. I don't believe you Phrogg. You just want me to be 3ms slower than you so you can knife me easier than you already are. I'm gonna have to go with the ASUS monitors. They are so new, many places don't even have them yet. They are HDCP compatible and despite doubts on the 2ms response time for a 22" LCD, every review says it delivers it.

  22. I'm seeing most 22" LCD monitors are 700:1 contrast ratio. This Sceptre is 12000:1 but is only 5ms. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824112005
