BFV RSP
Agreed. Getting jaded by promises that seem good but aren't empty upon delivery. I still shouldn't be in shock that The Division 2 launched without major issues. It's like delivering the minimum has now become worthy of praise and excitement. Let's hope EA actually does more for a change.

In playing the Beta, the gear normalization helps a lot with that. We curb stomped a lot of guys trying to gank us thinking they were decked out. Also helps with players of different levels to play together.

Looks like we will have about 3 currently non-TAC folks joining us too. TomC, none of us are giving up our favorite FPS for this game. Some of us were just looking for a side step to a PVE focused game for when you get those bullshit hacker nights in whatever game. I know I've had amazing fun in Siege some nights and then swamped by aimbots and ESP the next. I'd rather just switch over and get my blood pressure down than grind in misery for a better round on those nights.

Vivendi Sells Off Last of Ubisoft Shares
Ubisoft is finally free of Vivendi after a failed takeover attempt back in 2015. In the agreement at the time, Vivendi agreed to sell off their 27% stake in the company after they failed to get on the board of directors. This final selloff starts the 5 years Vivendi agreed not to own stock in Ubisoft. In its place, Ubisoft got Tencent and the Ontario's teacher pension fund as major investors. R6Siege Burnt Horizon Tomorrow
Rainbow 6 Siege will release Burnt Horizon tomorrow. There were some last minute changes after technical testing. Dokkebai gets a harder nerf on the logic bomb. It will now stop ringing phones after 12 seconds instead of 18 (original nerf). Capitao's bolts will not be changed as announced. They were OP and subsequently reverted. One of the biggest changes is reviving will be far less useful. Picking someone up will now leave them at 20 hp instead of 50. As little as 15 in Terrorist Hunt. This is anticipated to stop the "resetting" meta where players would intentionally down a low hp ally to bring them back to half health. Rainbow Six Siege's Operation Burnt Horizon deploying this week | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM Siege's newest operators are arriving alongside a hefty balancing patch.

Worst bioware game ever
The only good news is that this was the anticipated major looter shooter rival for Division 2. If Ubisoft can do this right on their release, they will make bank off a disappointed Anthem crowd. That being said, I have fond memories of good Bioware games and this stings to see the company behind narrative games fall so far.

Division 2 Has Clan Support
I liked it. They fixed a lot of bugs between open and closed. A lot of what was wrong with Divison 1 is fixed here, but not everything. It's hard to speak to things like story line because they obviously held back in the betas. PvP is good but still some questions about what it will feel like in late game where more stats are in play. The normalization at level 8 (beta max level) felt good most of the time. Certainly times you got melted and weren't sure how. The best is the PVE. It is challenging with AI that flanks, rushes, and pushes your strategy to the limit. Normal is doable as solo or duo, but going higher means actually applying thought and tactics as a team. End game PVE felt really good with a complex stat system and the craziest enemies. Still has some flaws and unanswered questions. I do know a few "hell no to Division 2 players" after Division 1 and they have come around.

Anthem Banning Players Over Too Much Loot
Looks like Anthem is still spiraling now banning players over "exploiting" the best ways to earn loot in the game. No hacks. No glitches. Just using loot loops Bioware apparently doesn't want you to do. There is also some severe criticism of the highest difficulty tiers being far less lucrative for loot than easier tiers. The reviews are still saying stay away from this game for now.

Division 2 Has Clan Support
Division 2 will have support for up to 50 member clans with support for news feeds, clan member ranks (4 ranks - Commander, Lieutenant, Agent, Recruit), advertisement of clan preferences (hours of play, mic reqs, play style), and all of this will be accessible in game. You will also be able to search for clans you would like to join. Clans can be public, invite-only or private. Private clans are not searchable but members can invite. The clan system will support similar challenges Ghost Recon brought about in terms of group efforts helping everyone in the clan. Everyone playing in the clan will earn Clan XP which will help award clan loot crates and other weekly challenges will be available exclusive to clans. Clans will also have a 1-30 level progression system, unlocking insignia and other ways to show off the veterancy of the clan. A portion of the White House HQ will be devoted to your clan as well. Ubisoft just released an article about this (looking for the link for the Ubisoft Launcher article on it). PC Gamer link instead. The Division 2 will have 50-person clans with their own progression system | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM Weekly projects, clan XP, unique vendors and more. It looks like we will be getting at least some community support for Division 2 which is a step up from other recent efforts out of Ubisoft. I know a few of us are getting Division 2 and clans need a minimum of 4 separate accounts to create a clan. Keep a look out for a TAC clan on Division 2. If you're planning on getting this game, please reply so we can form up a clan on day one.

Wildlands Patch Feedback
The new Ghost Recon Wildlands patch dropped last night. In a phrase, PC PVP is dead. 6-7 minutes estimated for a match on quick play with the custom server browser showing one match with 2 people in it. No one tested the new class or maps as a result. The new UI and Guerilla mode provided some good signs. The UI changes finally make the main menu clear as to which mode you're selecting. Guerilla Mode is a fun and extremely challenging PVE mode with little room for error. 3 of us only made it to wave 15 once in several tries. It is worth a shot for those who still have the game installed. It definitely showcases what might be coming in the next Ghost Recon. Menus are clean and different. New icon art was introduced too. Felt like they are trying out their next product on this one.

Anthem Rough Start
SkillUp provides a 45 minute review on Anthem that is an analysis with what is wrong at Bioware and why the game wont recover from it's current state. This is probably the most in depth review I have seen. Some end game spoilers, be warned.

What are you playing?
Angry, you are not alone in your sentiment with the state of gaming. I know several of us have expressed dismay at the trash being passed off as good games. If you do end up seeing any good games, pass them along. I know I've been scouring Steam and the like to no avail lately. Well, at least not for games that I am willing to pay to try.

What are you playing?
I think a few of us are contemplating Apex or have tried it. Might be nice to see if we could set up a weekend or something to all go in together. I hear it's the best with a full squad of three on comms. I'm personally leery because I dont like Battle Royale as a concept, but better than nothing.

New Update Next Wednesday
With the modest uptick in players this patch might bring, we should probably give the game a send off with some play time when it comes out.

Armory website style change
The only thing I noticed was the reply and post thread buttons are green instead of orange. I dont mind that change, so it is just an observation.

Peak Attention Hits Game Developers
Interesting article out on how peak attention is impacting and slowing down revenues for game developers. Things like people watching gaming videos on YouTube are gobbling up time they would use to game. The blaming of Fortnite for lower revenues is apparently not the only issue in the gaming industry. Major Games Publishers Are Feeling The Impact Of Peaking Attention WWW.MIDIARESEARCH.COM Just last week (February 5th) Electronic Arts (EA) reported disappointing quarterly results, now Activision has laid off nearly 800 staff, mostly in marketing and sales. As MIDiA has reported multiple...

Apex Legends Battling Cheats
It looks like Apex Legends is already under siege from hackers with 16,000 cheating bans in the first 10 days. We suspected the game might already have some after seeing the prominent suspicious Recon players jump ship for that game. Looks like we weren't far off the mark in assuming good hacks were getting made for it. Hopefully, they can keep a lid on it before it becomes an actual, noticeable problem. R6Siege Year 4 Road Map
Big changes coming to Siege this year. Deployable shields will get a rework to make them fully cover doorways and will have a mini mira window in them. Team killing will be harder soon. If you deal too much damage to friendlies, you'll be sanctioned and have the damage mirrored back to you. Lean spam will also reduce your movement range on lean to prevent headshot avoidance. Glaz's scope will not work while moving. Lion's ability will no longer fully outline and will be shorter. New operators will go down in cost by 5,000 reknown every year after they are new.
