Ive seen many people arguing that ATI was in the market from the beginning. This is my little history about the graphical market in the last 7 years. Once upon a time there where 2 kingdoms. 1 was called Nvidia and the other was called 3dfx. They where both neck to neck in the battle of the uber graphics card. At one point 3dfx lost the battle in the memorable year of 2000. Thats when nvidia bought 3dfx making their kingdom bigger. Then this canadian firm called ati started to pick up speed. And soon the battle between nvidia and 3dfx turned into nvidia and ATI. Ati started slow introducing cards for the family and not for the pro. Things changed by the start of 2002 when they started producing better cards. ATI almost won the battle in the glorious year of 2003 when nvidia produced the somewhat crappy(for their standards) NV3X family. Now in the present day it looks like that lost territory was recovered and its again neck to neck for the uber card in the world. We as gamers Nvidia or Ati strong supporters should be really happy about this battle. Why? simply because it offers us a race that only we can profit out of obligating the 2 company's to come with bigger and better cards each fiscal term. Imagine if ATI wouldnt get into the fight what would of we done if only nvidia was there (altough i am a strong nvidia fan). We would of had no competition and it would end up into a microsoft (windows) type of thing. Where microsoft produces crappy software that we have to digest because they are the only firm out there that provides mainstream op system. (SURE linux is awsome but u can say bue bye compatibility with our day to day games).Another thing that u can compare it too is like imagine if in USA there was only one party that would always be stronger than the other) So botom line is this. I like nvidia u like ati shut the hell up about it and be happy that u can choose. And lets pray to god that none of them will fail or close because we as gamers are doomed if that happened.

Hi guys i am looking for a cheap upgrade on my system. Well a friend of mine wants to buy my g4ti4600 for 100$. Now... i was thinking cuz for the same money i can get a fx5200 (REMEMBER THIS IS ALL IN CAD). Is the fx worth the upgrade or are they pretty much the same cards. My full system is this. And i will change it soon. Also which mainboard do u think its really good. Considering that i might get a new proccesor in the short time

Ive bought myself a thermaltake 560W a year ago. I was stupidly using a g4ti4600 AMDXP1800+ on a 300W. Lemme just say that it was the best 80$CAD i ever spended. Double cooler same voltage (no voltage fluctuation) and a serious increase in performance. Ok guys, one of my best friends smokes around 2-3 joints a day. After 4 years he is just a lazy bum, but he is normal. Me for example i used to smoke allot of weed at one point, but i felt really,really shitty after a while and i stopped. Never smoked in a year because it just makes you forget stuff and makes u feel in a Haze 24/7. So bottom line is for some people there is no effect for others it is. Its bad none the less and the difference between alcoohol and weed is that your body tells u when u drank to much, but with weed it doesnt. So basicly anything u abuse is bad. As for lord orion the cops wont come because weed is decriminalized in canada.BTW: Awsome pics state cop. Good thing you dont live in my neighbourhood :twisted:. LoL jk

Magnet i totaly agree with you. This was one of the few company's that helped mod developers offering them a deal like they did with the CS team. AHH if Fa went to stores 3 years ago we would of been better than cs ever would. :o

Well i dont like anime. But i see that as my decision in not watching it. Everyone can do what they want. But i dont see a point in having in my old high school an ANIME club i just find that plain stupid. I do think that they take themself too seriously but thats their problem in the end

Just to explain it. THE GAME HAS NOTHING NEW except for some new maps and the bots. There are no new guns and no single player that they announced. Altough u can install deleted scenes which was what was SUPPOSED to be in it but its barely playable and its unfinished. But it would of looked really nice if the game was like the deleted scenes. My respect for valve DISSAPEARED after a couple of years of postponing CS:CZ. And also HL2 i am willing to bet it will come out at the very least in 2005.

I speak german i can actually help ya out on this one Ok edit: My first impression is that they are trying to do a good job. Site is upgraded constantly and it has an awsome potential. The only problem and the reason there are not too many games about ww1 is that the war was mostly a trench war, that means that it was really dull i couldnt yet find on the site (i only browsed it for 2 min) what type of maps or gameplay they are going to have. State Cop next to the battery on the main board ull find a jumper that has 3 legs I I I and a jumper put on 2 of em II I. Turn off the power put it on the last 2 I II and keep it like that for 2-3min than put it back on II I and turn on the power. U should be able to boot at this point

Ive noticed how on steam there is an update every week that patches some things and creates new bugs for others. Won had an update a year and that one was SOLID. Now which one do u think you would choose if you could of chosen (considering that all servers went back on WON)

True.....BUT. And there is a BUT. My CZ is to show that if you keep a game in production for allong time people will idolize that game untill its released. And let me tell you if that game has 1 glitch then everyone is going to consider it JUNK. Mock my words man cuz thats the problem that valve doesnt understand.

Thats why i have a AMD Athlon xp 1800+768MB DDR SDRAMWindows XP Geforce 4 TI 4600so pretty much same system but DONT EVER GET ATI MAN. Well i guess i am biased cuz i have on my 2nd computer a 9500 PRO and i HATE it its soo i dont know. I feel like the software is made for little kids. And i bet u they have problems too.

HL2 is going to be most likely on steam. I hoped steam will clear their act together after a couple of updates but they didnt. The idea of Steam type program for multiplayer gaming is awsome because everything is more organized. But as some of u said they put junk on ur computer giving u big big problems and making it pretty much unable to play a single player game without actualy connecting to the internet (that is not my problem but other people have it) also you could tell me ya if u play single player go on won but the problem is that these new updates that come out for CS etc are based on steam. Going back to the subject i voted HL2 because of a couple of reasons. Remember when CZ was announced 2 years ago everyone was so enthusiast about it and on every forum that had gaming ties this was the most used word u would see in topics CZ. Now 2 years later and 500 realease dates postpones later it appeared on the market. How many of u are going to buy it or how many of u read the review and got REALLY dissapointed. They say one thing and they do another. Thats the problem with valve. I am afraid that they will postpone the april release date if they didnt do that already. Who knows maybe they did i am not sure. HL 2 has the biggest problem because it is expected to be the next best thing and it usualy might be a dissapointment. Look at BF:vietnam it was expected to be this super game and allot of people dont like it now because their standards for this game was really high(ME NOT INCLUDED). The only game that actualy was super cool was in recent memory GTA:VC because they announced it just before they released it making people talk about it 24/7 untill it came out. These are all marketing features that can change our opinion about a game if the idea is new. If ur waiting for a GD game for 2 years u will have a huge Expectancy for that game and most of the time they are exagerating the game making u believe its the BEST thing. After a time when they actualy realeased it u noticed that u waited 2 years for nothing. To end this i have to say 1 more thing. No sequel will be as good as its predecesor. Quake I vs Quake II vs Quake III (think about that).PS: Notice how the poll has only Sequels.

Ive had huge problems with that too. Get HLDS (SO THAT U DONT NEED TO FREEZE UR ACCOUNT AND GIVE A CDKEY FOR THE SERVER) follow instructions(install in a folder prefferably hlds).Then u need to pretty much install FA in the HLDS folder (not in valve folder). Go into command prompt and go into hldsupdatetool.exe there it will tell u how to make an account and update ur steam platform. Then u start hlds (make sure u set the game to FA set ur disiread player limit name etc). Then start it (go to http://bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/ and try the free test). If u get download 2mbps or around there and ur upload over 300kbps that means if it runs on a decent computer u can hold up to 12-14 players depends where they live. And that is a fast crash course into setting up a server.
