  9. Now smash that was funny. I guess that will learn them. it remindes me of the time I set the gas powered irrigation pump behind my house on fire. I was putting gas into it, it wasn't running, the gas spilled on the muffler and away she went. My buddy took off running telling me it was going to blow up and to get my butt away from it. Well it wasn't that easy there were two horses within 10 feet of this thing. I calmly told him to turn on the hose that was in the horses water trough and I put the fire out. We were in the 7th grade at the time and we still laugh about it to this day.

  16. When I was in the Navy working on F-14's, it was my first day on the flight line and I walked between the huffer (huffer = a small turbine engine mounted on a trailer that supplies air to start the Aircraft engines) and the airplane just as the switch was flipped to supply air to the aircraft. The hose separated from the huffer and hit me square in the tool belt I was wearing, it knocked me to the ground and gave me a huge bruise thanks to the large wrenches in the tool belt that was all that happened it could have been a lot worse. Lesson learned, don't walk there! Another stupid thing I did in the Navy. I was in Cold Lake Canada and it was freaking freezing cold, imagine that? Well I seen the Canadian Air Force guys warming their hands using the exhaust from their huffers. This looked like a great Idea, except the exhaust on our huffers did not go through a heat exchanger and when I put my hands into the exhaust my leather gloves instantly shrunk two sizes. I did not suffer any burns, thank god. But needless to say it was freakin HOT.

Believe it or not I started playing NASCAR Racing 3 I was in a league that raced almost every night of the week. We raced 30% of the race and man I used to sweat my butt off for over an hour racing in my air conditioned house. Could you imagine what its really like. Anyway Good times. My first FPS was Battlefield 1942 and believe it or not I was once a good player. I don't know what the hell happened. I feel like Michael Jordan in Space Jam. I lost my MOJO. If anyone knows where it is please feel free to let me know.

  22. The most costly mistake I have ever made was when I was training another technician on how to replace the fan in a Transformer Rectifier. There were two of them to repair. I repaired one while he repaired the other. As we were reinstalling them into the Airplane I was paying more attention to what he was doing then myself. Long story short I crossed the power and ground wires. I sent 28VDC to the chassis of the airplane. Needless to say it sounded like the forth of July in the cockpit when power was applied. It was a long list of damaged equipment to the sum of $15,000 in repaired and replaced parts. I was lucky I had an understanding boss who only told me not to worry about it, thats why we have insurance.
