November 13, 200718 yr I found this fix on the Infinity Ward forums. ****UPDATE**** Set it to 60 instead of 30 ...works better. the connection time out is a Flawed Setting put in game from IW with this you get time to connect - 402 and his buddies can work on the server all they like but the fact is a whole lot determines the time to connect to the servers not just the master server and the lousy time you all have for default will make this an ongoing problem that all the master server repairs you make will not fix it Here ya Go for the Fix want to fix that server connection timed out goto your console enable it in game options type "cl_connectionAttempts 30" (at least 30) the default of 10 is a Rediculous number i originally suggested 60 for 1 minute some servers took me to 50 or so to join but most will in under 30 and you will need the extra time say for instance the messed with the master server and required alot of users to Await key code authorization you will have to enter this everytime you start the game before it will save a workaround is to add the line seta cl_connectionAttempts "30" in the config_mp file in your profile i found out that once the awaiting connection screen starts you cannot abort it with the ESC key as you could in all other versions of Call of Duty this awaiting connection times is nothing new in the world of COD COD 2 had alot of Problems with that that IW say was supposed to be fixed in the 1.3 Patch Nope Still same old Crap passed on to the new Game one thing that definately needs a fix is the Name limits in game 12 charaters just aint enough my clan tags and my game handle wont fit for 1 and our clans colors would be nice to see as well had no problems with that in all prior COD Versions so why in the heck did they change it now
