After months, i would like to play BF 2.

Is it running under Vista Ultimate ?

(BF 2142 is running fine).

I set my system up in a duel boot configuration, and I play my games in the Windows XP partition. As written in another article, XP is twice as fast as Vista. I noticed a significant gain in FPS (smoothness) when gaming in XP. :D

I failed at my dual boot attempt, lack of Drivers for my system and the second install of XP gave me an error on it's initial startup. So I an running Vista and will stick with it until I get a desktop, Vista runs BF2, 2142, and CoD4 fine for me.

If BF 2 runs BF 2142 should be ok.

I haven't been able to play BF2 or 2142 under Vista since I bought my Creative Xtreme Gamer, now I crash after a few seconds of game play. I tried for weeks to fix it but no luck, I setup up dual boot and now everything is gravy. BF is the only game I play under XP.

I take it your laptop doesn't have XP drivers Travis?

What drivers did you need and what error did you get?

XP would probably help with gaming quite a bit, maybe you should give it another shot unless a desktop is coming soon.

I mainly needed a Display driver, since I have a "next gen" DX10 Mobile card it seems XP drivers aren't ATI's priority. After finishing instalation went I went to turn it on the next day I got an error that require a fresh XP install, but when I tried to boot from disc it kept telling me to reinstal(in other words it was a constant loop XP was giving me).
