:) -Before we shut down the 2142 and what ever other servers...we should give it a week with a notice in the load screen that we have ETQW and CoD4 servers up...some people might make the switch...just a thought.

wow, thats the best idea i have heard all week. :)

if you need a job let me know. :(

I agree with shotty on this actually. No need to have something running if no one besides us play on it. I don't see the point of putting messeges in the screen to let people know that we have other servers when nobody joins the server. If TF2 is a good game, then lets put a server up for that.

We need to start attracting new people to the website and our servers. I don't see the point of having servers that just "A" members play on.

I think we need a TF2 server, but there are only two or three of us who ever play that so it would probably sit empty like the others do now.

Yes, we do need to bring in more traffic to both the servers and the website, but the problem isn't the game server, it's a lack of a single game that has a large following. Dropping any of the game servers currently running won't fix the problem. Adding new games might, but only if there was something out that could replace what we have, and currently there isn't anything that fits the bill.

As far as our server is concerned, we actually have an incredible deal now, and we will probably not get the same discounts if we change again.

COD4 seems to have the largest following right now, though I see a lot of those 11,000+ servers empty.

I've been primarily playing COD4 lately, but I still play 2142, and I've actually been going back to it when I get completely fed up with COD4 (after seeing that video of the Clark I actually got inspired to start playing 2142 again and start using it...me likes the Clark now). It is the first FPS I've actually played online, and it's the game I'm the strongest in at the moment. Despite all the problems and annoyances, 2142 is still an enjoyable game to play. But I guess at some point I'll need to get more into ETQW or BF2 if I want an alternative to COD4.

It'll be a shame if the 2142 server goes away, but if no one actually plays on it I can see the reasons for putting some other game on it (I haven't seen the city maps server in the server list lately). If it were up to me, I wouldn't mind seeing a second COD4 non-hardcore server with a mix of all game types/maps and the killcam off, but that's just me.

Our QW server tends to fill up pretty quickly with a jump start. Tonight we had a full server within I want to say a half hour of starting. We played fun games, so much fun that it took me back to some of the good times we had on our 2142 server. I know some of you guys don't like QW but I think the reward is well worth the initial learning curve. I think we can easily get a following on that side of the fence.

Would a 32 player server be too much. Would it be fun, or just carnage and mayhem?

:D -no...32 (16 per side) is not too much...BUT, any more(if possible) and it it becomes TF2 or CoD4 where people just 'run and gun' and actually do nothing game wise.
Oh my bad I thought you guys did.....

:D -on that note...I honestly did not even realize you could run servers for WoW separate from the main servers...if that is in fact the case, how are they monitored for cheating and such?

No man I was joking...lol

I used to be a Senior Council member here I know there has never been a WoW server and I know that unless it is a hack server you have to play on a Blizzard server. It was just me being me.
