So who else here is an insomniac raise your hand.

I've been getting very little and bad sleep for the past couple of weeks.

Its great feeling exhausted all day and filled with energy come midnight.

Too bad I need to get up at 7 tomorrow.

Anyone got any good tricks?

Stay up all night, go to sleep around seven or eight tomorrow night and wake up early the next day. Problem solved. :D

Honestly, it must be going around. You make person number 3 that has not been able to sleep these last few weeks.

Weeks try years :p
I raise my hand, i am always like this. No matter what shift i am on at work, i always sleep like 4 hours a day. The good thing is that every now and then i drop dead and sleep like 12 hours. Pils dont really help too, i could suggest that you try and oxygenate your blood a little (do some exercise, cardio), you'll feel great and sleep like a child ! Woot

Depends what sort of pills you are talking about..

sure some GHB or Ketamine would knock you out XD

My trick is to first go have a baby.

Then after the first 6 months of never sleeping thru a night, suddenly you can fall a sleep any time any place. It's great i can just mearly close my eyes and if i'm tired i'll just fall asleep :D

Sorry I can't identify with your problem. I have been sleeping more not less here lately. I always think that "this too will pass". Good luck!

/me raises hand ^^

I get in geek mode and can't freakin quit...

Especially when I'm working on a 3d modeling project.

Gotta raise my hand on this one. No matter if I'm up 20 hrs. at a time, I still get only 5 hrs. maz of sleep. No cure at all that I can see. :D Every once in a while I then crash and manage to get 7 hrs. sleep. When that happens thats my excitement for the day. lol

Go see a medical professional, tell him your problems. They can suggest some sleep hygiene exercises and if the problems persist he maybe able to prescribe you something.

Prescribed medications are not a "fix-all" and should not be used to 'permanently' 'fix' your problem. There is an underlying issue involved and until you identify that/those issue(s) and treat it/them you will not find relief.

Start with the doctor, then sleep hygiene, then medications, then if that fails see a sleep specialist. Remember DO NOT self medicate and make sure if you do that you use only legal medications, and follow the correct dosages suggested on the label, the main thing is to stay safe.

If there is nothing that can be done about the insomnia then you can discuss with the doctor options to combat day time sleepiness. Provigil is a very good non-addictive wakefulness promoting prescription medication that can help you to successfully stay alert and awake during the day with no serious harmful side effects.

Remember consult your medical professional. Sleep is a very important physiological need that we have. You should take all variations in sleep quality and quantity very serious, your physical and mental health depend on it.

I'm usually tired all day and then at around 9 or 10 at night wide awake while everyone else here needs to sleep.

Now I work the day shift starting at 5 am and I'll tell ya what when I get home I can sleep at anytime.

Stay up all night, go to sleep around seven or eight tomorrow night and wake up early the next day. Problem solved. :D

that should work.

I'm an insomniac by design and choice, not by any act of nature. I work third shift so I can have a life of some kind. But if I see a pillow, I can sleep on it. And the worst part is I still have no life... :p
