I wanted to start a poll cause' Gator told me in the past that if something wanted to be changed i had to consult it with all of you and even make a post. So the whole point of this poll is to see who would like for the server to stay a 10 SECOND RESPAWN TIME, i know i dont want to because it's 10 seconds less to play and if you look at it this way multiply the times you get killed by 10!! Thats alot of spectating time(kinda boring). I would go with the 5 SECOND RESPAWN TIME or even a 3 SECOND RESPAWN TIME but NOT an instant respawn time, as you give the opposite player who killed you a short time to move and not camp. So i am putting up a poll with 3 options.

 

Please choose and a opinion would be appreciated to help us improve our server. Remember that we have to hear what everyone wants but we must also considerate what we want as a group.

 

Hope that with this thread i dont offend no one as that is not my intentions.

Very true, but i would call that bad luck lol as that has happend to me quite a few times lol.

 

But it's the same thing if someone calls in a Air Strike 3 seconds before you respawn, so imagine, that happend and you get killed with the air strike right after you been waiting 10 seconds. I'd get pissed and leave. So i think that is just luck. That is why i also didnt put a poll up with an instant respawn, cause that does happen(the thing with the A-S)

Well, I think we had a first glance at pubbers joining our server last night since we apparently now show up in the browser. Sadly though it seemed that they joined our server because we manually loaded Shipment Free-for-All out of normal rotation. We loaded it because there were only 4 of us playing. Then out of the blue we jumped up to 9 or 10 players. When we allowed the server to load a map from normal rotation, a few did leave. One complaint we saw from one pubber was that the spawn time was too high. Although I do agree with that suggestion, we should remain cautious on what changes we try to adopt as Prem and Freefall already mentioned.

Also, I believe in the 10 second respawn time to allow a player to move out of the way before getting shot in the back by the same person he just shot and killed 5 seconds prior (if that makes sense).

 

Also, and for a comparison, I will set the server to 5 seconds to get the feel. :)

Thats is also the other good point, it gives the other person to move and not camp :)

Personally, I like 10 second spawn because things start to feel a bit pointless without it in objective-based gametypes. Like when you kill off the entire opposing team and still don't have time to plant a bomb or cap a point.
