Hard as it may be, it's important, for your Grandfather as well as your future feelings of yourself, that you see him reasonbaly often with a positive attitude. Say or offer checkers, anything to give you both somethign to do, chat with such. Reminise a bit, good memories, make him feel happier from he likely feeling. It's tough and scary. Confronting it armed with useable gifts, good memories, good humor, etc ... will go very long way to improve his feeling and yours. :thumbsup:
