My turn...

jaydub's post made me want to share my new bike... After my car was stolen I decided to get another bike instead of a car. Only get 40mpg(whereas my other one get 50), but I can use the other one for commuting long distances and this one for fun.

2008 CBR1000RR

What made you want to go with the CBR1000RR?

Not a bad looking bike. Are there any other exhausts out there for it? It kinda looks like the exhaust from the Buell 1125R. Copycaters.....lol

The technology....this is the lightest 1000(mass produced atleast) on the market, I believe it is lighter than the GSXR-600 and I know it is lighter than the GSXR-750. It's not the fastest 1000(0-180 in a slow 22 seconds) or the nicest looking(though i like it), it just seemed to be the best of everything.

Guess I should add, I have had it for about a month and a half....and I love it.

ya, it seems like a pretty solid bike. Can't imagine the insurance on it though,.
By the way...want your car back? I'll trade you for the bike. Sorry...probably still a sore subject, huh. Nothing like salt in the wound.

Few more years, and you would have had honda's new "brake by wire" technology..

below 6mph the brakes operate as normal, Above that a central ECU controls braking pressure, ABS, etc to the wheels. Early tests in a few of hte magazines over here are singing its praises, saying its hardly noticable that the ECU is doing all the braking stuff and you are simply operating a switch, soto speak.

Either way, very tasty bike.. i have Hondas new V5 VFR in my sights.. thats a very tight new bike..
