Posted August 29, 200817 yr I listened to this interview with Aleksander Grondal, a DICE Producer, and I noticed that he would not answer any questions about a new Battlefield game for the PC. He was asked twice about the possibility of a Battlefield 3 game, but he refused to answer or comment. He was also asked about the Battlefield 2 patch that was announced a few months ago, but he refused to answer that as well, so i think they may be related in some way. My gut feeling tells me they are going to release a new Battlefield game for the PC before Christmas shopping begins. What do you think they might do, if anything?
August 29, 200817 yr hopefully hell yes.. They usually have a media silence (cept for a few choice "leaks", notice the quotation marks as they usually tend to be of the tactical nature, to the press beforehand)
August 29, 200817 yr I would agree. They normally release a new game around October-November, right? I usually have to wait till Christmas to get the game which always puts me a few months behind everyone else.

With all the money you make...I can't believe that you don't have a copy coming straight to you HOT off the press. With COD5 being talked about so much and Crysis2...you have to believe that DICE isn't gonna sit back and let their competators get all the sales in PC games.
August 29, 200817 yr Hmmm hard to say, cause' as Shotty said we usually get some "leaks". Hard to say. It might be "In Production" but I really don't think it might be coming out for this Xmas. We just have to sit and wait. THE PREM.

If there where a BF game this season it would have been at E3 or Leipzig Game Confrence. The game would have to have a working alpha or very, Very early beta for this game to even think of of being released late '08 early '09. I suspect mid '09 for any type of release date. Lets get realistic, Resident Evil 5 was announced that it was in production last year at E3 '07 and is slated for March 13 2009. I know EA is known for releasing products before they are ready, BF2 for example, but there is no way that any BF game is going to be released this year due to lack of, well, anything saying BF3 even exists...

I'd have to agree, although I wouldn't rule it out completely. If I were to put the chance of a new Battlefield game as a percentage, I'd say 25% or lower. If it were to come out, I don't know because my computers aren't the best at handling computer games. I play console games though. That's why I put 'Maybe'.

Just because they don't have any beta of BF3 right now doesn't mean anything...Infact i'm fairly certain that BF2 series never really had any "real" beta testing of its own.

Im not saying the open beta that 2142 had for mass release. Im saying a really early beta to show proof of concept at a demo station an any type of game confrence...
August 30, 200817 yr they'll prolly just throw in 3/4's the work they've done for badcompany and use it for bf3. theres a money making scheme for u! maybe they've figured releasing the same game from console to pc is a dumb idea...so lets release the same game from console to pc but change the name and throw in a few new things and take out some.
August 30, 200817 yr It just seems to me like they would be doing everything they could to hype its release . Something like Halo 3, There would be a wed site BF3.com or something. Pics,videos interviews Betas Inside rumors from designers. I havnt seen or heard anything. I know some peeps in Cali that went to 1 of the many gamer conventions and claimed to have seen a Battle Field 3 Beta that was very early version and that was last summer. IM thinking we may get screwed on this deal as more money is made in Console games and when its finally released they will have some big dollar contract to exclusively sell only Xbox or Play Station . Then after a year it would be released for PC umm that's 2010 bummer

August 31, 200817 yr One thing is for sure... it will be fun to watch what happens! I hope they do come out with something.. I am hoping that this spring I can get more active, as I am sure I am one of the current members slated for "removal". If a great game that pulls us all together is out there it will be a motivator for me to get active again (as I do love this clan!)

September 2, 200817 yr They'll just skin a new game on the previous engine, charge us full price. No thanks, ain't going near Battlefield ever again. I appreciate the memories I have, but those fond days are done for good. Man, shooters in general have really sucked lately ><

September 4, 200817 yr Christ, i can't belielve anyone actually believes that EA will release a game with out hyping it for a full year. There is no indication that they even have a completed engine ready for the game, let alone a stable build of a game that could be Battlefield 3. Chances are we'll know about battlefield 3 long before its ready, and probably take 9-15 months before its released. Even if they use frostbite and release a PC game, they'll have to fill it with content and test it, and that takes more time then most gamers believe.
