Posted September 16, 200817 yr So, as we approach the end of the boating season, the wife and I have been looking to "upgrade" our boat. Seems we've found what we're looking for, hopefully... 29' Larson 290 Cabrio. 10' beam on a 2007 Tri-Axle trailer.. Of course, with the new boat, and it's 9400 lb+ wet weight+trailer weight, and 1200 lbs tongue weight, gonna have to upgrade the truck. This is the one I've found that fits me perfectly, and is the right price too! What ya think? TFD /monthly_06_2011/post-646-130810227585_thumb.jpg /monthly_06_2011/post-646-130810227591_thumb.jpg
September 16, 200817 yr Holy smokes TF. VERY NICE. I guess now is the time to strike, huh? One word of caution. Its just scary to ME to make a large recreational investment with the way our economy is right now. Though if all is well squared away with your financial situation, then by all means, go for it. Be sure to invite when you take the maiden voyage!!!

Be sure to invite when you take the maiden voyage!!! Yea, it's a little un-nerving, however, finances for myself aren't terrible, and the new boat will only cost me about 100-150 a month more than what I'm paying on the current one. Only risk I'm taking here, is selling the current boat, but I don't feel it will be a big problem.. The truck, if everything goes as I think it should, I'll be paying basically the same per month payment I am now for my '03 Dodge 1500 4x2 Quad.. Nothing's a done deal yet. Going to look at both this weekend.. TFD
September 16, 200817 yr wow both look great, but with the way gas prices are a big Hemi wont be your friend in that department! still looks great though Mr

September 23, 200817 yr i likey, the boat the hemi will get cha there np but why not a diesel? better mileage and just as much horsies...
September 23, 200817 yr Yeah I saw a Turbo diesel ram on HorsepowerTV it was awesome (thought I'd mention)
September 24, 200817 yr i likey, the boat the hemi will get cha there np but why not a diesel? better mileage and just as much horsies... Yes I second that Joe. My stepdad, sister, both brothers, and brother-in-law all have diesel trucks. 2 fords and 3 dodges. The fords having the 7.3L Powerstroke Turbo, which is the best diesel engine ford has ever put in there truck, still can't beat it to this day. And the Dodges having the 6.7L Cummins Turbo which is beast itself. And pound for pound and torgue for torque the hemi doesn't hold a candle to the Cummins when it comes to towing. Just check it out the specs for yourself. But all in all I like the boat....very nice. Just put a Cummins under the hood of that sweet lookin truck and you'll be good to go.
September 24, 200817 yr Author Only reason for not wanting Diesel at the moment, is currently, Diesel has been much higher fuel price wise, however, recently, it's about equal to gas, as it's came down a lot more than gas.. Still, I also want to be able to say "Yea, I gotta HEMI!"..
October 21, 200816 yr Author Some updated pics of the new boat. This just after the moaring cover was made for her. Up next, winterization  and then back to the canvas shop for a remake of the camper canvus.. Go pick up the new(er) truck tomorrow..
