Aspen was a wonderful dog...:(

I didn't share this last week but my dog Aspen collapsed of heart failure in our backyard and became paralyzed while I was traveling on business. My wife drove here to emergency that night (she howled all the way - so sad) and they couldn't save her. She was 14 years old (pretty old I guess). I saw her photo in the galleries and thought I'd let everyone know. She looked just as good as the photo. You'd never know that she was that old. She is survived by her best friend Dallas a mix retriever/lab. Dallas barked for two days after Aspen died and layed by our front door thinking she was outside. I guess even dogs mourn.

Anyway here's a picture of Aspen from the gallery.....she was beautiful rare white husky. Remember to hug your pets on Christmas - they need love too.....

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss of Aspen. I know I think of my pets as my children. They become one of the family. Think about the good times spent, and know she is now resting peacefully and in good hands.
My heart goes out to you Merc. I know that it had to be like you lost a family member. I try to show as much attention to my male schnauzer evey day as I can because he is 11 yrs. old and I know it's just a matter of time. He also has skin cancer.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. She looks really beautiful in that picture.

That was taken in our pool - she loved to swim in the FL heat.... :D

Thanks everyone for the wishes. I'll pass them along to the wife.

awe, that's sooo sad.I'm really sorry to hear about your pup.

I love my pets too and would also be sad.

Sorry to hear the sad news Merc. Im sure there is alot of memories that you all will carry with you.
Sorry Merc. I'm sure Aspen was a great friend for all those years. My dog was put down on Dec. 23rd 4 years ago and it still bothers me to this day. Again, sorry buddy.
Mercury I definitely feel your pain and am really sorry for your loss. She was a beautiful dog. My own dog died of heart failure this past July at the age of 6. Just remember to cherish the memories and years of love that you had with her. From experience I can say that Dallas might take awhile to recover depending on their personality. My dog died at home so the other two dogs could smell him and realize that he had gone. Our one dog became very depressed for awhile and wasn't herself. Just remember to give Dallas lots of extra loving.
