It is thanks to Apple II that the PC exist: the mixture of an AppleII (with removable PCB under the top cover) and an IBM (fixes finished) gave birth to the PC which you know...

Into AppleII, each peripheral had a PCB has to insert into the mobo under the top cover: floppy, graphic card (B/N or Color), etc...

And each external peripheral had a cable between the pcb and the peripheral... Cable which disappeared on the PC because they are connected to the interior of the tower...

The Z-100, made by Zenith, was the very first computer I used while in the Air Force. I remember when they purchased them, and saw them sit on the floor for months, because nobody knew how to operate them ...lol :D

 

The Z-100 didn't have a mouse (wasn't invented then), used Microsoft Z-DOS, and had a telecommunications link called BBS, where you could communicate with others (kind of like today's instant messing programs). :D
