September 12, 200916 yr I think it was nice to include all the booster packs in this patch some of which can be fun (even though its mostly tanking). The prone deviation actually works but there is a way around it. The AA is ridiculous perhaps too much. Watching what some of these missiles can do now is borderline unrealistic. Dropping flares is pretty much pointless unless you can time it right. I haven't tested the BH minuguns yet but from what i've heard they actually kill people now. From what i've seen Patch 1.5 is your standard EA mediocre patch. It will probably be the last patch we see but if there is another some new weapons would be nice. Does it make me want to play BF2 more? Not really. They know that they've screwed up by pushing 1943 back till next year so they're hoping this patch will sort of act as an apology. Well guess what EA it doesn't. This game is so old even though still kinda fun. We need a new game and fast. I believe that CoD MW2 will probably end BF2s life. I will still play the game seeing there is nothing else to play at the moment. But lately i am turning back to some older games really old games. Is there any hope for PC gamers?

September 12, 200916 yr I used bit torrent to get mine, and it took somewhere around an hour to and hour'n half. As far as the patch goes. This is what the game kind of should of been when was first released.
September 12, 200916 yr Hit reg is great now, or at least much better than it was in 1.41 Gameplay feels better for infantry servers, although still disappointed about how much grenade spam there is. AA may seem excessive, but only when you're on the receiving end of it, when you're on the ground it feels damn good to finally knock down some of those hotshit pilots. Booster packs and new maps are nice, but still most every server thats full is still just Karkand 24/7. Lots of nice new things, proning past claymores ect, but still lots of stuff untouched that needed fixing for a long time such as commander msg spam, and some of those little annoying things. I'd give it a 7/10 considering the crap we got fed with previous patches.
September 12, 200916 yr Hits register,.. Flares take SKILL now to avoid incoming missiles, split second timing and the liketo get it right, rather than just dropping and turning, you can still avoid the missiles without flares if you know how, was watching a mig do it last night,. 9/10

September 14, 200916 yr I had fun playing it the other night. Hit reg it's pretty much the same for me with my ping and all, but i like the maps. True that flares are harder to use but i found that dropping those nukes require more skill than before, i think the splash damage is reduced somehow. Anyway i will be in the server at 2000.
September 15, 200916 yr BF2 is old this is why I play the mods, but I'm finicky I get board pretty quick so I gotta keep it fresh. CoD MW2 gonna have vehicles? Been messing with the single player on Forgotten Hope 2.2 and I must say as a WW2 history buff, I like it!
September 15, 200916 yr Author FH2.2 is pretty fun i've been playing the sp here and there. This last update has really made the game the way it was meant to be. If you like WWII type games then FH2 is for you.
September 25, 200916 yr I fired up the dusty duct-taped baby today. It said there were updates. I had unused, in hard-drive, the previous 1.5 beta installer I got from here mths ago. So I ran it. Completed, but I SEE NO SERVERS FOR MULTIPLAYER ANYMORE. So I went to EA website, there was just the 1.41 update. Unsure if I was 1.4 or 1.41, I today, downlaoded and installed that over top the beta 1.5 which was tried hrs ago. I STILL SEE NO SERVERS. Do I have to download the new 1.5 update from somewhere ? It not show at EA/BF2/Downloads page like the 1.41 does.

Sincerely, Hoooooogan ;-) You could have EA to send you the account info you were using before. There are still a lot of servers out there playing the vanilla maps.

I tried to start the game and the screen turns black like the game is about to start then POOF...back to desktop... Anyone had this problem? BTW I am running Win7 64 bit....later Nvidia driver for my 8800GTX...ect

Also, run BF2 in XP emulation. That's how I got it to work in Win7.

Was you BF2 crashing as soon as you started the game? I never even see the load screen. It goes to black screen then back to desktop.

Hmm, mine would crash after loading but when I hit "Join Game" After I got that fixed, I would get kicked by punkbuster a minute or two after joining.
October 12, 200916 yr I was running everything other than PB in admin mod and with Xp compatability. I changed those things and it is still doing it. I was reading a fix that I will try...It just requires uninstalling everything....uuuggg. If that works I will create a new thread about the fix if any other Win7 users have the problem. I will keep you guys updated.....
October 12, 200916 yr Thanks for all the help guys...I found a fix that worked. I am not sure if it was the installing everything as the Admin or patching 1.41 twice before and after the SF pack install then the 1.5 patch. Either way it worked...
