March 4, 201016 yr I have encountered a problem with this game, the retail version. All servers in the server browser show a ping of 999. I did some research on the Internet and this seems to be a common problem. A reported solution is running the game as administrator and/or checking Run as administrator under the compatibility tab. Unfortunately this does not solve my problem. I am still unable to connect to all servers, including European based ones. I have 64-it Windows 7 Ultimate, ADSL connection, DIR-120 D-Link router, and I use Windows Firewall and Avast Antivirus. The game is allowed access in the firewall settings. Any ideas as to what to do?
March 4, 201016 yr I had a prob with this in the beta and full retail version running windows security essentials to fix it I just deleted and uninstalled my AV and it solved my prob hope it helps it has been reported to EA and they have a team still working on it and no its not a constant it may happen to 1 and not the other it may be a conflict with the game software and AV software and hardware the just dont know
March 5, 201016 yr Author Just for you people's information I have managed to connect to two different servers. I was still having problem at that time but I did manage to play for a few hours. Unfortunately all I get now when I connect to any server is that the Connection to the server has been lost and the Server is full. PunkBuster and Bad Company 2 have both been updated.
March 6, 201016 yr Author It seems to work.... for now. It could be one of those "one day it works and another day it does not" moments.
