DoD is a very good game i like it

I have never tried DoD. Day of Defeat right.Think i can play it thrue steam...Will acctually try it right away. :roll:

I play it from time to time, it is really good.

Yeah It's pretty good game

DoD is a great game. I play it all the time and highly recommend it to anyone thinking about trying a WWII shooter.

It still doesn't compare to Call of Duty

Yah, I rather like Battlefield 1942 myself. But dang, I love DoD. Aimbots are an issue, I agree. Nothing like watching a guy go 75 and 14 last night with him using nothing but an Einfield bolt action rifle. Half those deaths were from my MG32.. I think the spot I picked in the window was screwing up his aimbot, because he kept trying to run out into the open... I guess to an angle where his aimbot could see me.But what can ya do eigh? Hehe. At least most the servers in DoD that run with FF either admin them well or have decent autokick systems. I can't find that in BF1942 easily.

yeah, WTH, CoD hooked my dad, a 48yr old ex army dude who tries to forget the military. He has beaten it twice so far, while I myself beat it in 2 or 3 record gaming sessions (VERY rare for me nowadays). on topic, DoD is an excellent game, but i think it is crippled by the overly powerful German weapons and the Enfield. I realize they strive for realism but if you look at most servers, they seem to indicate that in real life the allies wouldnt have made it to within 2 miles of normandy beach before being eviscerated by thermonuclear stick bombs and atomic machine pistols/guns. I believe they still have a lot of play balancing to do but they just wont acknowledge it. Ah crap, now im ranting about DOD again, i promised myself i would try to stop doing that (some very bad DOD memories)

Lots of peaple are griping about the Garand now, even after the fix that allows the Garand and K43 to register more chesthits. While the Garand is getting more one shot kills than it used to, it still doesn't compare the railgunnish power of the K98 and the Einfield. Most British vs German maps turn into rifle wars as the Brits really don't have a good heavy MG yet.But still, I have plenty of fun in the game..... some of the crazy stuff you manage to pull off from time to time makes the game fun. Like killing 2 or 3 peaple with one bullet from a K98 or Springfield... or today when I set up an MG42 in the lower entrance of the church on Avalanch and got 4 kills the moment I opened fire. Last night on Charlie, I was on the allies and lobbed a grenade on that seawall mortar to the right and laughed my ass off when a friend of mine on the germans was sent flying over the wall onto the shingle from the blast of the grenade.I still maintain the game has great weapon balance, other than the Garand needing a twinking the the Brits really needing a heavy MG, I'm satisfied with it.

try to take this Brit Grenadier on dod_jagd, you'll never get close to the tanks, I never miss

oh yeah, most the guns are balanced, its just that those that arent or are abscent (british MG) really throw things off. I wish they would add an M2 .50 cal that would have a low ROF but could shoot through some walls. They would probably require a 2 man team to account for weight and balance, but it would be a nice counterpart to the MG42 and its wall o' lead

yeah dod is balenced but i hate those cheaters that are running and just hitting the head :x

If I'm a german MGr, I tend to prefer the MG34. For some reason, I don't do as well with the MG42. I hate having to worry about overheating, and the MG34 frees me of that worry. Of course it sucks I have to reload the assault drums more often than you change the belts on a 42, but my overall kills to death ratio is better.The American 30 cal kicks ass Americans actually did well for MG's. BAR works both as an assault rifle and light MG work, and I prefer the 30 cal over the MG42 (but not over the MG34).But the brits do need work. The Bren kicks too much for assault work, it's top loading clip obscures your firing vision, and it doesn't have a big enough clip to do any serious MG work. That, and I'm begining to think it has both the weakest damage and worst accuracy of all the MG's. Not that I haven't done well with it, I just do better with the other MG's.

You can just rush out there with the bazooka. Wait for a wave of recently respawned f00s to go by, then move in. If you're destroying the first tank on the left near the double doors, it's easy to destroy the second one. Just side step a few and you got the top of the second tank in ur sights.

well, lets consider that in real life that all the guns killed in one hit. In real life, it was about 100x harder to get anywhere on the beach. I can usually get up to one of the grey bunkers in the omaha map

i just started to play dod but isnt it supposed to be a some map like that omaha map that was played on the TA ???

Call of Duty is awesome, I find it to be one of the most realistic WWII games out there

I've done deleted DoD to help make room for BF1942. I got tired of peaple doing an insta 180 and shooting me in the head with their K98's.

I am a big dod fan. Played since dod 1.3. I love the game but I kinda don't like the new version. Seems to, easy and not a fun. They only good map I know is dod_avalanche. Because of this I play my fav map in the world DOD_HILL_CLASSIC, A remake of the dod_hill map from the first dod version. Love that map. The new sounds and guns sound to kiddy and they removed bleeding why would they do this? Also they remove the scary white explosion of death.
