I've never used photoshop before so this should be interesting...

Well, before you decide to download that "Illegal file," I would suggest you read this, first:

You can, however, get the latest version of Adobe Photography Plan by paying a small $9.99 a month fee for a subscription here. It gives you both the newest version Photoshop CC 2014 and Lightroom (you get both).  This also includes all the updates as well, of course.   :)

i was lead to believe it was free cause they were tired of people getting the file then complaining it was hacked if you feel it is not legit please feel free to delete thread i dont spread that kind of stuff. And when i clicked the link it sent me to Snapfiles.com a download site I've trusted for years its where I get all my freeware. also its an older version its not their top of the line stuff :p

What the article was saying is that users no longer have to authenticate their CD key (and in this case, somebody elses) to activate the product.  The only difference is that Adobe is no longer requires the user to activate the product with their servers.  People interpreted that as Adobe giving away their software for free, but they are not.  It's like a Battlefield 3 no longer requiring you to authenticate the software, so one person gives out his key and everyone can use it.  See my point?   ;)
