Having considered all the feedback we have received regarding 48 player 60Hz vs 64 player 30Hz, we have rented a server from Fragnet with 64 players at 60Hz.

 

The old server will remain operational for the next 2 weeks or so and will advertise the fact that we have moved.

Because of multiple server crashes (last night and today), I moved the server to Dallas, TX.  Some of your pings will go up, and some will go down.  Hopefully we will get a full tonight, so we can see what this server can do.   :signs16:

There is a known problem with 60hz servers.

 

Water maps cause stress to the server and make the game lag.

 

Just like we noticed with our full server, tonight in Paracel Storm.

 

"Servers running the 60Hz on maps with a lot of water — such as Paracel Storm — get so strained by the water physics that it causes severe lag and rubberbanding."

 

Dice is working on a fix.

Server is smooth as silk. Even the water maps are still 10x's better then 30 hz.

I know. Just saying that is a known issue that the water physics cause strain on servers.

Am I the only one that can't tell much of a difference Maybe my framerate settings are too low?

Was it smooth for you? It was great last night, I didn't run behind any walls then die. So far so good, it'll take some time to really "see" the difference.
